"So you fell?"

"Yeah! I had to stay at the hospital for a month."

Emilia laughed, almost snorting out coffee through her nose. "Oh my God, I can't believe you!"

Ben smiled at her. He chuckled at the memory and nodded. "Sadly, it's true."

She shook her head. She looked to her right where Brian sat grumpy. He had shades and a beanie to hide his identity, he wore his grey jeans with a long forest green shirt, his shoes consisted of old dirty white converse, and his makeup was minimal. His eyes were surrounded by light red and eye liner, which couldn't be seen since he had the shades.

Emilia hit his fingers to stop him from picking off his nail polish. He looked up at her, annoyed. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, i'm just stressed with the process of writing the album. I'm so fucking tired." He said.

She bit the inside of her bottom lip and straightened her back, "I'm sure you'll find your muse again. Just a bump in the road, right?"

Brian held his tongue. He nodded instead and looked over at Ben, who typed away on his cheap flip phone. "So ben, what do you do for living?"

Ben looked up from his phone and stared at Brian, "I manage a record store."

Emilia looked at Ben, drinking some of her coffee, "Really? Which one?"

"Smash Records, we sell mostly old vinyls and albums. Hardly any new stuff." Ben said looking at me.

"I never heard of it." Brian said scoffing.

Under the table, Emilia kicked him. Brian snapped his gaze towards her, giving her a threatening look. "It's located next to Rivior Pub down Crescent street, not hard to miss."

"Well, I'll make sure we'll make a stop one day." Emilia said smiling.

"I have to get going actually, I have to check on the store. We have two new employees and I don't trust them near the register yet. I'll call you later." He said standing up.

Emilia stood up along with him. She leaned in to hug him, wrapping her arm around him. "I'll talk to you later, bye Ben."

He smiled at her and left. Brian, who let a small giggle leave v his lips, starred at her. "What, Bri?"

"Nothing, nothing at all."

"No, it was something."

"Nahh it wasn't."

"Brian, I swear I'll shave your locks off, tell me."

He shrugged his shoulders and walked out of the coffee shop. Emilia followed, intrigued on what he had to say. "It was awkward, that's all."

"Awkward?" He nodded. "What do you mean by 'awkward'?"

"I don't know, it seemed stiff- the hug, I mean."

"Stiff?" She scoffed, "You're crazy. It was a perfectly normal hug."

"That was a friend-zone hug, Milly. He even knew it. Pour guy, he seemed so upset when he wasn't given the full hug. Probably ruined his ego."

"Brian!"

"What? it's true!" He said as he took her hand and walked across the busy street, "you bummed him out, but luckily that is over."

Emilia walked at his pace, faster than she could carry her own legs, "You were quiet rude, Brian. You were a jerk to him."

"Yeah, he'll get over it."

"Why are you being sick a dick?" She said finally working ahead of him.

"Why are you asking so many questions?"

"Because you're not answering them! I didn't even ask a lot of them, asshole!"

"Woah, woah, calm your horses. I didn't mean any harm. I was going fun-"

"That wasn't fun! You know I don't tolerate shit like this. He tried his best to include you into the conversation and you have to be a prick?"

"Mill-"

"No, don't speak to me until you apologise."

"Ok, I'm so sor-"

"Not to me, to Ben. He deserves it and until you do that you are to leave me alone. If you don't, then... umm..."

"You won't hurt a fly. I know we'll end up together again by the end of the week, but if I do have to, then fine. I'll go apologise."

She nodded and walked away with her head up high. She knew he was right. They would end up making up even if he didn't do as she asked. It freaked her out how their friendship has gotten to a point were nothing could break them up.

Emilia did need the alone time, she needed to think.
