Broken B2 - Together

Chapter 4

Kenric's POV

"Kenric! Dad! Are you guys okay?" Calla asked.

"I'm fine," I croaked. "I feel a little sore." I glanced down at dad. "DADDY! Are you okay?!"

"Kenric, he saved you. He doesn't have much strength left."

"Daddy's dead!?!?!" I could feel the tears in my eyes. "He died beca-"

"He isn't dead! He's breathing. He's just... unconscious."

I looked around for an exit, seeing a small hole in the top of the cave. "Do you think you could wriggle through there and get help?" Calla asked me, dad still lying in her arms.

"But it's only humans out there!" I complained. "How are they gonna believe me?"

"Say we fell or something."

"O-okay."

She lifted me up over her shoulders. Luckily, I only weighed 47 pounds.

"What do you see out there?" She called.

"Not much, just a big triangular thing."

"Can you describe it more?" Calla asked desperately.

"I mean, it's very rusty and is made up of a lot of bars. It might be new construction or something."

Then I realized it wasn't new construction, it was the Eiffel Tower. Mom had told me about it when she told me how she got kidnapped.

"There is an escape route. Do you remember the story about the Neverseen kidnapping mom and Uncle Dex?" I asked.

"Oh yeah! Then... we would have to split up."

"I guess." She gave me a hug and she lifted me through the hole.

"Good luck!" She called. I tried to climb down, but it was really hard. I eventually made it down, and I walked towards the bridge. I suddenly tripped on a rock and landed splat on the pavement.

"Ow," I moaned. I looked down to see bloodstained knees. I stood up and wobbled down the winding path.

Everyone was staring and pointing at me as if I was a dead mouse. Did they not learn their manners? I stumbled across and finally made it to the bridge.

"Where is it?" I mumbled.

Then I saw a familiar face. "Grampa?"

"KENRIC!?!?!? What are you doing here!???" Grampa Grady ran up to me and lifted me in a tight hug. "Come on, let's go home before anyone sees you."

A/N Sorry these chapters are SO SO SO short, we want to switch POV's so ya know...
