Durga's POV
'God, my back is aching so badly, I want to lay down asap. Where did this Nith go?' I asked myself.
"Athul, did you see Nith anywhere?"
"Ohh I forgot, she told me to tell you that she is not feeling well so she is leaving for the hostel. Sorry I forgot it in between all these..."
"Hey, it's fine... But what happened to her?"
"I don't know... Her eyes were red and puffy I think she was crying... But she denied it and said it's some dust allergy..." He said shrugging.
'Dust allergy? Nith never had any allergies...'
"Ok, buddy... I am gonna leave now, bye... See you for the exams."
"Bye "
'What happened to Nith? I hope everything is good...' I thought and went to our hostel.
"You look so tired Durga..." Said our hostel warden, she is a kind woman and is very friendly to me. On our college vacations when everyone visits their house I and the warden will be the only ones staying here.
Her name is Radha, she is a widower and doesn't have any children. She looks after all of us like her own kids.
"Of course, I am Radha maa... Today was a busy day" I said smiling at her.
"You never take care of yourself... Come to my room in the evening, I will give you a head massage. It's been days since I applied oil on your hair..."
"But Radha maa-"
"No excuse, you should come... I will only have a month with you Durga" she said sadly.
"Aww, maa don't be sad... What if I am not staying here... I will always be your daughter and will visit you without any excuse" I said giving a kiss on her cheeks. "Happy now?"
"Why didn't you born in my womb?" She asked with tears in her eyes.
"Maa, please don't cry..." I said wiping her tears. "There is no need to carry a child in the womb to become a mother maa... Relations are made from heart, and we are connected with heart and there is no need to be the same blood to love each other..." I said and she hugged me.
"Ok child, you go and don't forget about the head massage ok, come to my room after taking rest," she said wiping her tears.
"Ok maa, bye," I said and went to my room. I greeted everyone who walked past me.
I opened my door and it was dark inside which is unusual... 'Nith doesn't like darkness, but what happened today?' I thought and switched on the light.
She was laying on the bed on her stomach hiding her face in the pillow pretending to be asleep.
"Nith I know you are awake... tell me what's going on... This sudden dust allergy of yours, what's that?"
"I don't want to talk," she said still laying, her voice was quivering...
"Nith, are you crying?" I sat beside her and turned her around but she hide her face with her palms
"Nith remove your hands," I said trying to move her palms and somehow I succeeded.
I caught my breath watching her face "Nith baby, what happened?" I asked cupping her face, her face was red and puffy from crying.
She hugged my waist and put her head on my lap crying.
"Nith baby what happened... Why are you crying?" I asked in panic, I have never seen her this vulnerable. Something serious happened, what if that boy did something?.
