I walk into the garden a few minutes later, to find Ashes still crying.
"Ashes..."
"Go away Jason! Please..." She puts her hand out to push me away.
"Wait, Ashes. You've lost your sister, you've lost your family, you lost your hope. But, you still have us. Freedom and me. Adaleus will remember you, and your sister, more than they will remember me. I will make sure of that."
"Really?"
"I promise." I kneel down next to her, and gently kiss her cheek.
