"You ready?" Aizawa asked as a honk sounded from outside.
Izuku was sitting stiffly on the couch, eyes glued on the TV. He wasn't brave enough to look around. He didn't want to see the eyes watching him, searching for a reaction.
With a deep breath he nodded and stood, throwing his bag over his shoulder.
Mic frowned but stood too, ready to walk him out.
The hero duo accompanied him out the door, the entire walk silent. They knew they had to say goodbye, they just didn't know how.
It wasn't like they weren't going to see each other tomorrow at school, so why was this so hard?
'attachment'. Izuku thought to himself as he gripped the straps of his bookbag even tighter, knuckles a pale white.
Outside of their apartment complex was a polished black car, some man in an all black suit waiting against it. His eyes were covered by unnecessary sun glasses and a lollipop stick stuck out from between his lips.
He patiently scrolled through his phone as he waited, the gold watch on his wrist glinting in the setting sun.
When he heard the sound of the trio approaching, he perked up and lifted his head.
He lifted his hand and pulled the lollipop out of his mouth so he could greet them. "Hey there Eraser, Mic." He looked between the two, a smile tugging at his lips. "Nice to see you two again. It's been awhile! Haven't seen you two since the reunion."
Aizawa seemed a bit uncomfortable since he wasn't very social and genuinely disliked meeting with old classmates. "Hello Dra-"
"I go by Happy now." Happy stated, voice chirpy.
Aizawa cringed at the odd name but made the mature choice not to question it.
"Happy!" Mic exclaimed, throwing an arm over the man's shoulders. "Long time no see!"
"Mic!" Happy exclaimed also, sorta mimicking the blonde and throwing his arm over his shoulders too. "You guys are looking so good. Why do I feel like I'm the only one aging?"
Hizashi let out a deep laugh. "I have no idea what you're talking about. You look the same as you did in high school."
"Is that a compliment?" Happy asked, a chuckle falling past his lips.
"Of course it is!" Mic said loudly.
Suddenly Happy turned his head towards Izuku. "And you must be Night Watch. It's nice to meet you. Believe it or not, I was one of the detectives that were assigned to your case." He extended his hand for Izuku to shake.
Izuku looked at it warily before shaking it. "Yeah..nice to meet you too. And it's Izuku Midoriya."
"Well, Midoriya, I can assure you that where you're going, it's not as bad as you're probably thinking. We have a room specifically designed with a youthful soul in mind and your roommate isn't that bad."
Izuku nodded and mumbled under his breath, "Sounds fun." And kicked an invisible rock that didn't exist.
"Happy, what's taking so long?" Someone called from the car.
They looked over to see a blonde woman sticking her head out the passenger side's window. Her pale skin glowed in the setting sun, yellow eyes glinted as a puff of smoke blew out of her lips.
"Just a minute, Anna. And what did I say about smoking in the car?" Happy called back, the question sounding more agitated and exasperated than the statement before.
