~The Light~

Aria Medlar

*start song*
I woke to the sound of light snoring beside me. Scrunching my eyebrows I opened my eyes and looked over to see Enzo dead asleep in a tiny chair, clutching my hand in his.

Letting out a little laugh, I looked around more and saw the rest of my best friends asleep on any makeshift surface they could find. Beside my bed was a small glass of water and I immediately grabbed it, downing the entire thing.

The pounding headache didn't leave though, so I decided to walk to Madame Pomfrey's office. Slipping off my blankets, I reached my feet on the ground and began walking. The world around me spun in different directions and I was about to fall onto the floor until I felt strong arms grab my shoulders from behind.

"Hey... woah there love. You're just ready to get right back at it aren't you?" Lorenzo laughed.

Turning around, the moment I met his eyes the reality of what happened last night came crashing down on me. I opened my mouth to speak, to try to explain myself, but when nothing came out, Enzo just pulled me into his arms.

"I know" He whispered "I know"

I clutched his shirt in my hands and breathed him in. The light cinnamon undertone to his cologne was enough to make me cry in relief. The both of us fell to our knees still not letting go of the either.

It was quiet in that room save for my light sniffles. I wasn't exactly sure how long we sat there in each other's embrace but by the time he pulled back my headache had mostly relieved itself. "I'm sorry" I said looking up to meet his soft eyes.

Enzo took my face in his hands and frowned when I flinched out of instinct. "Ari, you have nothing to be sorry for. I should've known that you wouldn't of left all of us. I'm your best friend, I should've known that that isn't who you are."

I leant into his touch and smiled. "There was no way for you to know Enzo. I wouldn't even let you around me for an entire week"

"Worst week ever" He muttered

Laughing, I nodded in agreement. "You can say that again"

The boy then helped me get back up and into bed as the rest of the group began to wake up. The moment Nyx's eyes landed on me she let out a sigh of relief. "Bloody hell Aria, you scared the shit out of all of us."

"I would just like to point out that I knew something was wrong the whole time..." Draco said stretching his arms.

I observed the group for a moment. Luce was leaning lightly on Draco with a groggy smile, Nyx was by Blaise clutching his hand, and Enzo was sitting on the side of my bed watching me carefully.

"Does this mean that you all are gonna think I'm like delicate now? Because I don't think I could handle that" I snorted

Draco shook his head, "No. You will still not hesitate to turn me into a ferret so I don't underestimate you"
