catching up

(Remus pov)
We finally get to Logan, Patton and Roman's house and I'm the first one out of the car still running with Janus in my arms.
As I'm waiting at the door for someone with keys the boy in my arms softly open his eyes and look up at me, "hi baby" I say quietly as I look at him. "Honey it hurts" he says very quietly and weakly as he looks up on me "I know just give me a second" I say reassuring and smile weakly as he closes his eyes again and nods.
"Logan please open the door" I shout at him as he walks up to me.

He opens the door and I rush in towards the couch and softly put Janus down.
"Baby is that better?" I say as I tuck him into a blanket, "babe?" I say after a bit of the silence. "Jan jan?" I start getting desperate tears forming in my eyes. "Janus please" I say louder tears streaming down my face as I hug him.
"I'm so sorry Janus, I should have protected you I know I just didnt know what to-" "honey" I hear him weakly saying slowly stroking my cheek with a cold and shaky hand, "y-yes" I say and look down on him. His eyes were barely open but I could tell he was looking at me.
"I dont feel good" his voice caused more tears to stream down my face, it was so weak and shaky.
"I know baby, what can I do? Tell me I'll do anything" and I really was ready to do anything for the boy laying on the couch looking up at me.
"Please dont leave me" he says as he falls sleep again. "I wont" more tears stream down my face as I hold him tighter.

"Remus could I just quickly check on him?" Logan says walking into the living room. "Is he gonna be okay?" I say looking at him, my eyes are sore from crying and my arms are still around Janus' body.
"I'm sure he will, could you set him up in a sitting position? I'd like to quickly check on the back of his head since he seemed to hit that into the wall relatively hard"
"O-okay" I say as I pull him up softly into a sitting position still holding as tightly as I can around his body.
Logan checks the back of his head and then where he got hit in the stomach and stands up.
"It was a rather hard punch in the stomach, but it will not be any problems." He says softly and reassuring "and his head?" I say looking up at him. "No sign of concussion but he might not be able to 'stay awake' for longer periods because of the hit" he says and looks down at Janus laying on the couch. "Permanently!?" I say feeling the panic inside my chest. "No, only for about 2-5 days"
"Okay."

"Logan said we were aloud in now" Virgil says as he sits down on the floor next to the couch.
"I'm not gonna ask" he starts "just tell me if he's gonna be okay." He says with tears in his eyes. "Hes gonna be okay" I say reassuring.
"Patton said you could use his room because he was gonna sleep at logans" he says as he stands up "okay thanks" I smile and he walks into the kitchen where he came from.

I easily scoop Janus up and carefully walk up the stairs and into Pattons room, as I put him down on the bed he opens his eyes and looks at me. "Does it still hurt?" I ask as I grab some blankets
"Not as much" he says sounding more like usually. "I'm glad" I say as we lay down in the bed together.

(Virgil pov)
"Are you sure it doesn't hurt anymore?" I say as I softly kiss Roman knuckles and look up at him. "Yeah I am, thanks hun" he says softly kissing my forehead.

Roman softly lays down in my lap and soon enough hes quietly snoring.

"Light pink cheeks" I sing to myself as I stroke his cheek, "with your soft tanned skin"
"Pushing the hair out of your face, never gets old"
I keep singing to myself.
"Do you think of me, in your dreams?"
"Am I there just like you are for me?"
"Or am I just someone, when you are awake"
"Even if i am"
"I'm still glad i am"
I end my little song and peck him on the cheek.
"See you tomorrow love" i say as i lay down next to him under the covers.
"Sleep well" he says back in a sleepy voice as he holds me tight.
