13- The Night Before

The week passed by really fast. It was nice spending time with my family especially during the holidays. It makes it even more special. It was the last day of Christmas break and then tomorrow we return to Hogwarts.

Sadie and I wrote letters back and forth non stop and talked about her trip a lot. With Draco on the other hand, he never responded to my letter. Maybe he was having too much fun with Maddox.

I was getting ready for the day when an owl appeared at my window. The owl was really familiar but it wasn't Sadie's. It was Draco's. I grabbed the letter from the owl and ripped it open to see what it said.

"Dear y/n,

I'm sorry for not responding this week. Things have just been crazy. Meet me at the park in London at 7pm. I want to see you even though we still see each other tomorrow.

Xo. Draco."

I smiled at the fact that he sent me a letter and that he wants to see me tonight. I just laid around the house doing except pack my suitcase and helping Allison pack as well.

"Hey, mom. I'm going to the park." I yelled coming down the stairs.

"Why?" She asked me from the couch.

"I just want to experience London for a while before I go back and not see it for a few more months." I said to her at the door.

She nodded and I made my way to the park. It was like a 10 minute walk from my house. When I arrived, I saw Draco on the swings and he was swinging ever so slowly.

"Hey there." I said walking up to him.

"Hey. I've missed you." He said getting off the swing. He pulled me into a kiss and smiled at me.

"Why did you want to meet? Beside the fact that you miss me?" I said pulling away from him.

"I just wanted to see you. A week is too long." He said giving me a hug.

"How ever are you going to manage during summer break?" I said to giggling into his chest. All of a sudden, he jumped up out of my arms.

"Draco? What is it? Are you okay?" I asked panicking as he was stepping away from me.

"I have to go. I'm really sorry but I'll see you tomorrow my love." He said as he kissed me on the cheek and apparated out of the park.

I headed back to my house and my way up to Allison's room to see if she was packed.

"Hey, are you packed? Because we leave at 9am tomorrow." I said walking into her room and taking a seat on her bed.

"Yes. I am. Where did you go by the way?" She asked me.

"Um...I went to see Draco but it was only for a few minutes." I told her making eye contact with her.

"You need to tell mom and dad soon." She said to me like she was worried.

"They'll know when the time is right. Now go to bed. We have an early morning." I said getting up and heading out of her room. She nodded and got into bed.

I went into my room and got ready for bed and fell asleep in my bed for the last time for a few months.

✨Draco's POV✨

As I arrived back at the Manor and returned to my room. I couldn't help by cry and scratch my arm from the burning sensation of it. I flung my door open and saw Maddox sitting on my bed.

"Where did you go?" He asked. "You know we aren't supposed to leave till morning."

"I had to see y/n." I said closing the door behind me.

"You do realize that if Voldemort finds out, he will kill y/n." Maddox said to me.

"Yes I know. I'll find a way to protect her. She can't go through this." I said looking out my window into the garden.

"Sadie and y/n have to be protected. They don't deserve this life at all. It would tear them apart. It was would hurt them so much knowing what has happened to us." Maddox said to me walking toward me to look out of the garden as well.

"I know Maddox. I know. I think that's what that dinner was about on Parents Day. Trying to break us up or find out if there was anything happening so they could tell Voldemort or so he wouldn't have to know. I'm not so sure. But I agree Maddox." I said taking a deep breath.

"Well, I'm going to bed and I'll see you in the morning when we leave for Hogwarts." Maddox said opening the door to my room and then closing it as he left.

A tear fell down my cheek as Maddox closed the door knowing I have to protect y/n. No matter the cost. I just don't think I can bring myself to do it. It would hurt too much.

I made my way into my bed and lied awake all night. Thinking about the future I could possibly have with y/n. But also, thinking about what danger is coming in the future. How to protect y/n and Sadie. How to still be the same Draco y/n knows and loves when I'm not anymore because I'm a death eater. How Maddox would have to act. How I had to be same person as I was for these past 5 years.
