23- It's Time

After a long day of classes, Maddox and I agreed to meet in the Room of Requirement to finish the cabinet after dinner.

It was almost dinner time and I was in my room doing some schoolwork. I saw my door open and saw Draco's head peep into the room.

"Is Sadie in here?" He said trying to look to see if she was anywhere.

"No. She's with her friends over by the Quidditch field doing homework." I said closing my book.

"In the cold? Weirdo." He said coming into the room and closing the door.

"Yes it's snowing but they wanted to." I said giggling.

Draco came over and sat on my bed and gave me a kiss on the forehead. He told me about all of his classes and how he wasn't really into Quidditch anymore. It made me kind of sad that he really loved it at the beginning of the year but now, he doesn't.

We talked all the way until dinner time. We even talked till we reached the table. It felt nice to talk to him again and sit with him. Not having to be distance with him.

As dinner continued, Maddox and I kept giving looks to each other which was mostly scared looks. Wondering if we were ready to finish the cabinet or not.

As everyone was heading back to their common rooms to prepare for bed and finish schoolwork, Maddox and I snuck away toward the Room of Requirement.

"Are you ready?" He said as he took a deep breath and opened the door.

"No. But do we have a choice." I said as I followed Maddox and closed the door behind me.

We walked over to the cabinet and continued to fix it by saying the spell over and over. As we were working on the cabinet, we heard someone come into the room.

"Y/n?" I heard Draco say behind me.

"Draco? What are you doing here?" I said turning around and dropping my wand.

"You never made it back to your room and I got worried." He said as he still stood in place.

"You know Maddox and I have a job to complete. We can't waste anymore time." I said walking towards him.

"Y/n.." Maddox quietly said.

"What?" I said turning around to face him.

"It worked...it's fixed." He said as he pointed at the apple that was in the cabinet.

I saw Draco run out of the room and down the hall. I gave a Maddox a look like I have to go find him.

"Go. I'll go write a letter to the Dark Lord letting him know." He said closing up the cabinet.

"How will we know they arrived?" I asked.

"You'll know. Go." He said and I ran off to find Draco.

As I ran through the halls to find Draco, I knew exactly where he would be. The Astronomy Tower. It was his safe place. I ran up to the very top of the tower and saw Draco staring off into the distance.

"Why did you do it?" He said still staring out in the distance.

"What?" I asked as I was catching my breath from all the running.
