The night sky bloomed with a shade of dark blue, with stars that decorated it. You laid on the rooftop, deciding not to sit on the edge this night. Kenma hadn't shown up yet, which made you the early one now.

It had been a short two weeks later, ever since you held Kenma's face and reassured him that he was going to be the best captain out there.

Ever since Kuroo, Yaku, and Kai graduated those three days ago. Kenma had been quite busier than usual, it's not like you mind. He was now a captain of a volleyball team, since school was out you didn't think he'd be too busy though. You took a deep breath, okay. You did mind it a little bit, you felt selfish for it.

You never noticed how lonely you were when Kenma wasn't around. You wondered what you'd do if he just left? You never thought about it since he kinda felt like a part of you? So when he was just gone, you felt a little empty. You weren't a stranger to this feeling, it started to develop months after you first saw Kenma practice. Even then, you didn't know exactly what to call the feeling. Your eyes watched the stars in anticipation, waiting for something to happen anything to happen. You weren't wishing upon a star, you just wanted a sign of some sort.

But you knew you wouldn't get one if you kept searching for it. You huff before closing your eyes, the nights had been getting colder and colder, or hotter and hotter you couldn't exactly tell.

"What are you doing?"

Your eyes shot open as you were met with Kenma looking down at you with a confused look on his face. You smiled which only made his suspicion grow, "I was just thinking."

"About? And on the ground."

"How you were doing." You hadn't meant to say it, it just slipped. Like in those terrible romance movies where they end up confessing. You saw Kenma's face twist into a slightly shocked one and his face flushed a bit. He looked away from you before humming, he looked like he was trying to find the words to reply to you. "But, yes on the ground!" You say quickly trying to change the subject.

"Weirdo." Kenma began to sit down on the ground himself, not fully laying down. "But I've just been tired lately." He groaned, throwing his head back a little.

"Captain things?"

"Kinda? But school is out for fucks sake. And oh God then there's the second years constantly asking things."

"You mean Lev." You correct, since Kenma didn't complain unless it was about one person he truly had small irritation with. Which would be, Lev or a game, or an opposing team. "Of course, I mean just Lev," Kenma says.

You laughed, watching him brush his hair behind his ears. You sat up yourself too, the concrete roof now starting to hurt your back. Kenma watched as you slightly wince, "You okay?" He asked.

"Fine, back hurts."

"Maybe, you shouldn't have laid down?"

"But the sky looks different when I do!" You argue, making Kenma roll his eyes. "I'm sure it does."

"Whatever, you haven't even tried it!" You say, Kenma looked over at you before he laid down himself grumbling a little. "Close your eyes first!" You say, Kenma groaned again. "Come on, just do it!"

"Fine." Kenma agreed before he closed his eyes, he heard shuffling next to him. He assumed you were laying down too, before Kenma could ask you if he could open his eyes you beat him to it.

"Open them!" Which Kenma did. His eyes stared at the sky above him, they didn't look too different to him. But he didn't want to tell you that, he found it cute that you were so entertained by them more even with the change of positions.

"You were right they do look a little different." Kenma lied, as he watched the stars that moved above him and you. "Told you!"

Kenma glanced over at you, your smile made him smile just a bit. He turned back to the stars that shined brightly. The both of you happy with the silence that was there, even though Kenma thought that you couldn't go a second without talking to him. He hadn't mind that, it made him happy that he could just hear your voice and bask in the sounds of your laughter.

"Hey, Kenma." Kenma hummed like he's always done when you called his name. You turned to your side your knuckles resting on your cheek, Kenma then looked over at you.

"You're always up here...why?"

"You make it seem like I've been up here for the longest." He said with a sigh. "Well, when I first met you, you definitely were up here. So that means you must've been coming up here till I showed up."

"You suspect a lot of things." He commented, which made you chuckle. "But am I wrong?"

"Well no, you aren't wrong." He said. "So, I'll ask again! You're always up here and I wanna know why." You smile.

Kenma shrugged and looked at the tiny blurry and blue stars in the sky. "I kinda just go up here to think? And look at the stars, when you weren't up here before I used to just talk to them?" He started before he looked at you. "But, now I don't need to talk to them. Cause I've got you."

You stared at him at a loss for words, which made Kenma regret what he said, he then quickly looked away from you. Kenma couldn't see the flushed look that made its way over your face, you then smiled.

"Well, I'm glad you got me and I'm glad I have you."

Kenma's lips curved into a smile, well. Now he didn't regret it too much now.

"You're weird."

"How?! You said you appreciated me like not just a second ago?! I was returning the compliment!" You explain. Which made Kenma laugh. "I was kidding!" You roll your eyes. "So not funny."

"Definitely was."
