You sat on Kenma's bed, just like watching the stars on the balcony became a regular thing so did this.
It had been weeks after your first time spending the night with him, you looked around the room. Your eyes landing on the dirty laundry that looked like it was overflowing, which made you sigh in disappointment. "Does he ever do his laundry?" You comment to yourself.
You heard the door open and then slam shut, you quickly looked over at Kenma who looked kinda mad, he groaned before flopping on the bed next to you.
"You okay?" You asked, your hands reached up and scratched at his scalp. Kenma sighed, enjoying the small attention you gave to his head. "You wanna talk about it?" You asked, and Kenma let a muffled "no" fill the room. You didn't mind, he'd bring it up sooner or later or something. Kenma turned around and began to sit up, immediately going over to his controller which made you smile. Since you knew he'd be too distracted to tell you to stop messing with his hair, as Kenma began to play the game that had already been set up you went being him and started to rack your fingers through his hair.
Which was a built difficult seeing how he didn't brush it as he should, Kenma winched a little. "Be careful!" He hissed out, and you huff. "Well, if you brushed it! It wouldn't be this difficult." You argue, Kenma muttered to himself all you picked up was; "It's not my fault." And other incoherent things.
Time passed and you managed to put Kenma's hair in a tiny ponytail. You remembered when he told you he didn't like when his hair was tied back, since he felt anxious when his field of vision was too wide. But, that was only when you two were alone so you'd never tie his hair back if it were in public. So there you sat to admire your messy ponytail in his hair. You heard the game music stop, guessing that he paused the game. Kenma then took out your messy ponytail from his hair, his hair falling to his sides, the big view he once had now slightly blocked with the uneven blonde hair.
"Hey! I took my time with that." You argue, which made Kenma smile a bit. "Look, like you'll have to do it again." He says carelessly as he handed you back the hair tie, Kenma wouldn't admit it to you but when you played in his hair all his anger and annoyance faded away, and he couldn't help but turn into a calm puddle. You let a small huff fall from you as you took the ponytail holder, you then scooped up all the hair he had and put it into a much more messier ponytail.
"I would've thought you'd take your time." Kenma sighed, and you laugh. "What, I most certainly did I looks amazing." It didn't, but you what were you gonna do? Well, remake it of course. Another laugh escapes your lips as you take out the hair tie, and slip it around your wrist. You then grab his shoulders, "What are you-"
Before he could finish his sentence you quickly pulled him back down onto his mattress, Kenma heard you laugh which only made him groan. He stared up at you, "You're so annoying."
"Am not."
"Are too." He resorted back. You both continued to stare at each other, your hands left his shoulders and brushed away at the strands of hair that covered his face, tucking the hair behind his ears the way he does. Kenma watched you with a content face as you brushed his hair behind his ear, he could see your entire face now.
"You're so beautiful."
It fell from his lips so naturally, like you guys have been dating for months. But you two weren't, so when you both stared at each other in shock but what he had just said, it made sense.
"I mean." He stammers a little, fuck he meant it he definitely did. But he didn't want you to know that, he didn't want you to know how he felt at all. He quickly looked away before sitting up. Your laugh rung in his ears, he turned around to see you laughing. This only made him embarrassed, as he was about to tell you to stop laughing at him.
"I think you're beautiful too, Kozume."
You both were inches apart and he stared at you like you were delusional, his face flushed and he could feel his heart shake in his chest. How were you so perfect, you were picture perfect even. Then he noticed, you called him by his last name.
"Kozume?" He asked, out of all the things he should be wondering he asked that.
"Oh! Yeah? I mean when you first told me your last name I thought it was really pretty." You admit, which only made Kenma's face flush even more. He remembered when he first told you that, I mean he hated when people were so formal so that's why he only let people call him by his first name. But, when you said it, it didn't seem so bad. Kenma but his lip before finally looking away from you, he found it so weird how he wanted to kiss you so bad.
He wanted it more than anything, more than a game he saw on sale.
"I mean if you don-" You were stopped when Kenma turned back to look at you, "Can I kiss you?!"
Now it was your turn to be shocked and in a flushed state, your mouth was slightly open. Kenma was still staring at you with a small annoyed and flustered expression, "I don't even know why I asked. God, I'm being so awkward." Kenma said, slightly beating himself up as he looked away from you.
But he felt his head getting turned back towards you, before he could ask what you were doing. Your lips met, Kenma's eyes widen. It felt like a loud 'boom' go off around you, Kenma could feel the way you had kissed him. He felt it in his bones, Kenma didn't waste much time to shut his eyes and kiss you back.
Kenma couldn't describe it, it felt like his soul was on fire and went into the water, every part of him came from a dead star and it was alive again by just your kiss. You on the other hand you didn't want it to end, you felt him give you new life you somehow knew that you wouldn't find an electric spark like this one again.
Kenma pulled away from you, the instant you both looked at each other you both knew that you'd follow each other till the end. You instantly let out a breathless chuckle and rested your forehead against Kenma's. The ends of his lips curled into a smile, then he closed his eyes. Even though it was unspoken both of you found a new relationship in each other.
"You can keep calling me Kozume if you want." He said, remembering that you were about to tell him that you didn't have to keep calling him that if he didn't want you to. "I like it when you call me it." Which made you smile.
"Okay, Kozume."
