HAILEY'S P.O.V

Today went by pretty fast.  I didn't go anywhere while Mom's at work.  My feet didn't really work out well to walk too far.  So I ditched my coffee time, all the addiction and stuff, and tried to be kind to my own body.  So yeah, I got one boring day.  Even Harry Potter marathon couldn't heal it.

"Baby, where are you?"  Mom stormed inside the house.

"Mom, we have the not too big house.  It would always rather me in my room, or me in the living room."  I chuckled.

"Haha...  Right.  Hey tick tock, change yourself!  It's less than an hour before the dinner!"  She managed her office shoes to its rack, and took her towel.

"This early?"  I looked at her.

"Yes this early.  It's not just about eating dinner, honey."  Mom winked at me.  "Go, wear your dress that we bought last time in NYC."

Oh shoot.  Mom reminded me of the hometown again.  I've told you to not to, but apparently Mom forgot that I'm kinda struggling here to start a new life without having that New York shadow behind me.  But alright.  Let's wear that navy blue lacy dress from that store at the corner of New York.  Thank you for making it clear enough.

I put some thin make-up, like simple blush on and matte lipstick.  I also wore the dark blue nail polish to make it even.  Some curl on hair, and that's it.  When I walked out of my room, Mom has ready but still trying to find her heels.

"Over there Mommy."  I rolled my eyes.

"Oh!"  She laughed.  "Age problem 101."

"Jeez hahaha alright let's go."  I closed my room door.

"You ready?"  She grabbed my hand.

"Uhm yeah."  I nodded.  You don't have to tell your Mom when you're not ready.  Just make it ready.  Because you have no option.

We walked passing through these 3 houses to this neighbor's house that Mom told me.  Daaaaang it.  I swear that I seriously remember, this house was the one I stared at, where that tall guy with a hat playing with his puppy, when the first time Mom showed me our house.  You remember that?  Because I do.  Suddenly my heart started pounding.  This is not cool.

"Good afternoon!"  Mom greeted the neighbor.

"Oh hi Mrs. Morrison!  Come on in!"  This sweet kind lady, around my Mom's age, greeted us back warmly.  I like her smile already.

"Hey Joan, meet my daughter.  It's Hailey.  Hails, say hi."  Mom grabbed my hand, maybe because she knows I'm this scared of meeting new people.  Or Mom knows that I could just runaway.

"Nice to meet you, Mrs. Joan..."  I nodded politely.

"Just call me Joan, darling.  Come on in, we've been waiting for you."  She pleased us to come inside the house.

I was stunned by this mansion.  It's real big.  The large of the house maybe is the same with mine, but except, they have probably 2,5 level upstairs.  Every room looks big and wide.  I remember our house in New York.  Even though it wasn't this big, but it's still big.  Oh, come on, New York again.

"Meet my husband, Mark.  Love, this is Hailey."  Joan introduced me to a man with very nice smile.

"Good afternoon Mark, I'm Hailey, nice meeting you."  I shook his hand.

"Nice meeting you too."  He smiled back.  "Just sit back and enjoy."

"Thank you..."  I politely sit on their living room couch.
