Jia

It was two months before Jia saw him again.

She threw herself into work to stop thinking too much about him, convincing herself that she needed to make her plan to resettle in Seoul the right decision for her career. Her Korean clients endorsed her to talent agencies they worked with until she was able to find someone to handle her.

Ironically though, Galaxy Entertainment was now a subsidiary of JG Entertainment. A week after she signed up with Galaxy, JG acquired the company. Was it fate, she asked herself.  This development gave her the opportunity to see Jeon again. Her first project was a guesting in the MV of a new boy group debuting under JG.

The meeting would be held in JG's office in Gangnam. She was nervous as hell to meet him again. How would he react upon seeing her? How could such a simple careless remark result in this abyss between them? Not one call to find out if she was ok, not even a text message on her birthday or Christmas. Was what she said so wrong, enough to stop a friendship? She would find a way to talk to him, clear things between them as soon as possible. She wanted their friendship back.

Jeon

Fate was playing a trick on him. He was doing well without her for the past 18 months. Although not completely recovered from what he felt for her yet, he was thankful for how things turned out for him. He deduced maybe they needed to work together again, fix their friendship, and close the book on whatever was left of it.

He tried to control the tinge of excitement he felt, knowing that they would see each other again. He didn't want to go through these emotions again. Not now, not after he waited years for her, only to be brushed off casually. His life was different now, he had to keep reminding himself that.

He was going to do this project with her. If another one came up, he would accept it too. Life wasn't always the way you wanted it. He was a professional, and personal issues like this should not get in the way of work. He worked with her before, keeping his feelings under control, he can do that again now.

She entered the room looking cool and professional in her suit and pumps. Apart from being unable to look at him directly, anyone would think nothing was amiss.

"Hello Jeon, nice to see you again."

Without shaking his hand, she sat across him with her manager Kim Seokjin. Jin mentioned to him earlier that he was taking on Jia as a talent to manage, and it prepared him for this meeting. Thankfully he would be dealing with a reasonable manager, a friend who wouldn't ask for outrageous things on behalf of his talent.

"Hello Jia, it's been a while. Jin, bro it's nice to see you again."

The meeting progressed smoothly, a schedule for the shooting days have been set, and Jia was glad that Jeon seemed fine working with her again. She got to meet Calibre, the boy group she would be working with, in the MV. The meeting finished ahead of schedule. Jia tentatively approached Jeon.

"Jeon, can we talk for a bit?"

"Okay, but I have something in an hour, I can't talk for long."

They went down to the coffee shop in JG's building and ordered coffee. She was nervous, but she just really needed to get thoughts out of her system. For her peace of mind.

"How have you been Jeon?"

"I'm good Jia. The decision to move here worked for me. I missed my family and work is fulfilling."

"You could've told me you were leaving, you know."

"I don't know if Nina told you, I did try to set a meeting with you."
