JI-Won, Jeon's mom surveyed her son's image in the mirror while she was straightening his tie. Such a big baby, this son of hers, still cannot do a proper knot on his necktie. She was glad he finally came home and she hoped it would be for good. He grew even taller,  now taller than his appa, and so attractive too. But why was he looking so lonely?

This was why she organized this little get-together for him. She hated seeing her Jungkookie unhappy. She had a surprise guest for him and she hoped it would do the trick of lifting up his spirits. She smiled indulgently at him as he was eying himself in the mirror.

"You look dashing, baby."

"Eomma, I'm no longer a baby." He said this with his lips pouting, belying his words.

"Son, you will always be my little boy, my baby. My golden maknae." She pinched his cheek, enjoying his grimace but he retaliated by poking her in her side. They laughed together, and it was music to her ears to hear him laugh again.

"Jungkookie, I want you to be happy. Whatever it was that made you sad, whatever made you decide to go home, please try to let go of it. Eomma will take care of you, huh? And you will live with us. I refuse to accept that you will live alone. I want to cook for you, make sure you eat and sleep well."

"Yes, 'ma."

"Ok, I will go down now, your friends will be arriving soon. Don't take long ok?"

"Yes 'ma."

Jeon's family lived in the Hannam-dong district, very near Itaewon. Their house had a nice garden used as a venue for house parties his mom held for his birthdays and during Chuseok, Korea's equivalent for Thanksgiving. It was nice to be hosting a party again, Ji-Won thought contentedly, while she observed the helpers fixing the table.

Jeon was against the party, he wanted to enjoy being back without having to deal with friends asking him to go out with them. But Ji-Won insisted because she was alarmed at how silent he was since he got back. This was not her funny and animated baby boy. She refused to take chances that Jeon might sink into melancholia. Hence this party, and her surprise guest.

Jeon's friends from high school started arriving. Hobi and Seokjin came together, graciously offering their gifts of wines and a basket of fruit. Namjoon and Yoongi arrived next, bringing with them songpyeon and more fruit. Last to arrive were Taehyung and Jimin, both handing her cake boxes of delectable desserts.

There was a lot of backslapping and laughing, and Ji-Won was relieved to hear Jeon's laughter rising at every uncle joke Jin was dishing out. The group was enjoying dinner and indulged Ji-Won's request to have their pictures taken together.
