After months of arranging schedules, Jeon and Jia happily found time to take a vacation together in Japan. It was just 7 days but they were thankful it finally happened. Their first two days were spent in Tokyo, going about the usual tourist spots. Predictably, it was a tiring time for them, rushing from one spot to another, keeping up with the transport schedules. This was why Jeon suggested that they spend the next three days in Kyoto, to experience a real laid back vacation, away from crowds and fixed itineraries.
They took the bullet train to Kyoto, napping along the way. Upon arriving at Kyoto, they checked in at the Genmyoan, a traditional Japanese inn.
Jia was awed by the beauty of the interiors and the fantastic view of the Miyazu Bay on the balcony of their room. Their suite was a serene space that looked so conducive to staying indoors instead of going out.

"Jeon, how did you find this place? It's beautiful."
"Just did some research. A site about Kyoto highly recommended this place. I always wanted to try soaking in an onsen, but I don't want to do so in a public one. We have this one all to ourselves."
He hugged her from behind, feeling good about Jia's reaction to the place. The scenery was perfect, the time they chose was also the best time for them. Cherry Blossom season had ended in March and this time was quiet with no crowds.
"Thank you for planning this, Jeon."
"I've been wanting to do this for the longest time. What do you want to do first?"
"Can we just walk outside and look around? This place is so pretty, I just want to explore."
"OK. We can just stop somewhere for lunch."
They roamed around the area near their inn, hand in hand, leisurely drinking in the sights. They had lunch at Kujikara Ramen, heaping bowls of ramen drenched in a savory broth.
