Three days after Hei-Won left, Jia went to the library to browse on some books. She was going to guest a popular author in her vlog and she wanted to research on the books the author wrote. She was so engrossed in reading the author's books, which were mostly tackling self-help and self-discovery. She was startled when someone spoke.
"Hey."
"Oh! Sorry, you startled me. What are you doing here, Jeon?"
"I was told you'd be here. Why are you reading self-help books?"
"The author of these books will be a guest in my vlog. Just doing background research."
"Will you take long?"
"Huh? Why?"
"You want to have lunch?"
"Is it that late?" She checked her phone and was surprised to see the time. "Hold on, I'll just take these books out and read them at home."
Jeon was asking her to have lunch. She was so flustered her fingers all suddenly turned into thumbs and dropped two of the books. He stooped to pick up the books and gathered the rest of the books on her table.
"Are you taking all this home?"
"No, just the two that I dropped. Could you please excuse me for a minute? I'll just go to the ladies' room."
She walked out and tried to calm herself. Good lord, what was wrong with her? It was just lunch, for heaven's sake. She checked her appearance and cringed, her eyes were puffy from eating ramen the night before. She applied powder and a fresh coat of lip balm. She remembered she needed to call Jin.
"Jin-shi, what's my schedule for the rest of the afternoon? I have just one meeting, right?"
"Yes, at 3 PM why?"
"Nothing, just having lunch with a friend."
"With Jeon?"
"How did you know?"
"He just called and asked me what your schedule was."
"Oh. Why would he do that?"
"I don't know. Jia?"
"Yes?"
"I can attend the meeting alone if you want. It's just a contract renewal for review. I can handle that."
"You sure?"
"Sure. Enjoy the afternoon."
"Thank you, Jin. "

Their lunch venue was a surprise to her. Jeon took her to his company-issued apartment, a place he stays in when he has to work late.
"Jeon, does Hei-Won know we're having lunch here?"
"This was her idea, actually. She requested that you be brought here for your privacy's sake. She'll be calling in a bit, she wants a zoom chat for the three of us."
"Oh ok."
True enough, Hei-Won called. She was in high spirits.
"Hi Jia! So nice to see you again. Will you have a meeting later?"
"Hello Hei-Won," Jia smiled warmly at her. "Jin and I were supposed to go to a contract review but he gave me the afternoon off, he will see to it alone."
"Oh good. When we're done you and Jeon can relax and catch up."
"Oh uhh, if Jeon's not busy, I guess."
