Chapter 42

Lisa's POV

I was in my office listening to music finishing up my painting when there was knock on my door.

"Come in" I said and in entered dev

"Hey I'm going for the day I'm finished" he said "oh my god Lisa you're all covered in paint and you have a charity  event in a couple of hours" he said

"Chill dude"I said

"I just want you to be nice and clean. Set  a good example for the company" he said

"Look I have my clothes I'm gonna wear over there. I'll wash up and get dressed  before I go you have nothing to worry" I  said

"Text me of anything happens" he said "I wish you'd go with me" I said

"Sorry about that buddy but I got my plans already" he said giggling "Why isn't Jennie going?" He asked

"Oh She's with her mom in New York right now . They went to visit her grandmother. She's sick so they want to go check on her" I told him

"Bummer I hope she feels better" he said and I nodded agreeing

"Okay make sure you tidy yourself up and speak good things" he said making me laugh

"Yeah I know I know" I said pushing him out of the door

"Goodluck I'll see you tomorrow" he said hugging me

"See you tommorow and you protection tonight" I said giving him a wink and he rolled his eyes playfully

I parked my car and made my way into the building the security asked for my invite and I showed him and he let me pass.

I was already getting recognized and greeted by many I shook hands and gave awkward smiles to people I didn't know but I played it off well

"Oh well would you look at that" I heard a familiar male voice

I turned and saw as my friend Peter came and took a seat next to me

"Pete" I said happily as I hugged him

"How are you?" he said

"I'm great I know I mean it's only been weeks since I last saw you tho" I said he laughed

"Hey well all use to see eachother everyday but now we all are busy and shit" he said making me laugh

"Tell me  about it. We can't be those crazy kids we were" I said

"Hey we're still kids at heart and that's all that matters" he said and I agreed with him

"Where's dev?" He asked

"It's his and jas's anniversary" I said

"Tragic" he said making me laugh

Before we could say anything else someone started to speaking on the microphone thanking everyone for being there and what the whole event meant.

"Ofcourse we'd love to thank Lalisa Manoban and Dev Raichand for donating an original and beautiful piece that will go into auction raising money for our foundation" she said making everyone face me and clap and I just smile waving

"Now before all that , here's one of the Biggest supporters of our foundation , please give it up for our performer of the night miss Irene Bae" she said making my mouth go dry
