"Whoa, that was not pleasant," Frank says, walking around in dizzy circles after letting go of Sans's wrist.

Annabeth just lets go of his hoodie and looks to the purple archway right in front of her.

"So, this is the entrance?" Annabeth asks.

"we're technically already inside," Sans says, pointing behind him.  "behind us is where the barrier separating humans and monsters used to be."

Frank and Annabeth look to the large cave leading outside.

"How do people not notice this cave?" Annabeth asks.  "It's absolutely massive and leads directly outside.  Something like this would've been detected almost immediately."

"magic works in weird ways," Sans says.  "anyways, y'all ready?"

"Yeah, I'm coming," Annabeth says, following Sans through the large purple archway in front of her.

Frank unslings his bow and nocks an arrow before following Annabeth and Sans through the archway.

The skeleton and demigods appear in a large chamber.  It was mostly dark around save for a golden throne with purple cushions and golden flowers around it.  In front of the throne is a small, golden crown on top of a pile of white dust.

"this is the throne room," Sans says.  "that throne was where the king used to be.  that's him over there."

Sans points to the pile of dust in front of the throne.

"Is that what happens when monsters die?" Annabeth asks.  "They disintegrate into dust?"

"yep," Sans says.  "humans would too if their souls were destroyed before they died.  like i said before, hurting our physical bodies doesn't affect us much.  the only real way to kill us is by destroying our souls.  so, when we die, we disintegrate."

"Hmm," Annabeth says.

Sans walks over to the dust pile.  He holds out his right hand.  A shiny red trident appears in it.  He raises the trident and stabs it downwards on the king's dust pile.  Dust flies.

"just payin' my respects," Sans says, walking away.  "it's a tradition.  would've done it sooner if i weren't in such a hurry to destroy the barrier."

Frank walks over to the trident stuck into the ground.  He wraps his hands around it and tries to pull it out of the ground.  It doesn't budge.  After a few more tries, Frank stops trying and hurries after Annabeth and Sans.  Sans pushes a massive set of double doors.

"Whoa..." Annabeth says, admiring the corridor behind the double doors.

It was, beyond a doubt, the most beautiful piece of architecture Annabeth had ever been to in person.

The walls were painted a soft, golden yellow without a single imperfection in the color of the paint or the paint itself.  The tiles on the ground were perfectly proportioned in a checkered pattern of brown and yellow tiles.  There was somehow...sunlight streaming through the windows?  Whatever it was, the light streaming through the windows made the place even more beautiful.

"Whoa, what is this place?" Annabeth asks, looking around.

"this is the judgement hall," Sans says.  "anybody passing through here will be analyzed for their sins according to the LOVE in their souls.  y'all remember what LOVE means?"

"Yeah, I remember," Annabeth says.

"Uhhhh, y-yeah, I remember as well," Frank stutters.

"Frank, you forgot, didn't you?" Annabeth asks.
