Sole Survivor (A Percy Jackson x Undertale Fanfiction)

Chapter 8

The next day, Annabeth gathers Jason, Percy, Frank, Hazel, Piper, and Leo into Leo's workroom.  She takes out Sans's diary and hands it to Leo.

"Whoa, how'd you manage to smuggle this?" Leo asks, flipping through the diary Annabeth had smuggled from Sans's home.

"Not too hard," Annabeth says, shrugging.

The 7 demigods are all gathered in Leo's workroom.  Jason swipes the diary out of Leo's hand and opens it to the first page.  Piper chides at him for being rude and Hazel just tells her to shut up.

"Something in weird symbols, probably a date," he reads.  "It's been a week since the Core incident.  We finally got the Core back under control and things are moving as normal.  The king had offered me the position of Royal Scientist, but I'm too lazy for that.  Instead, he had given the position to Alphys.  An interesting choice.  Sure she's smart, but she's too nervous of just about everything and is too timid to speak out in public.  Her grades were higher than mine in college though.  That's probably why he picked her."

"Really not too surprised to find that a there's a monster college," Annabeth says.

"Nothing too interesting," Leo says, flipping through a couple of pages.  "These entries are all just about what goes on in his daily life.  Pretty much an average diary.  This guy goes by a really repetitive schedule."

More flipping of pages.

"Oh, wait a sec, there's something new here," Leo says.  "Ok, ahem.

"I went to the doors today to tell puns to that lady behind the door.  She should be behind it at around this time.  But, after waiting for 15 minutes and knocking repeatedly, I got no answer.  I put my ear (heh) up to the door, but it's very quiet.  Way too quiet.  I knock again and ask if she's okay in there.  Getting no answer, I break down the doors.  There's a human boy holding a sword over what seemed to be Toriel, the former queen.  Before he could stab her, I force him into the wall and kill him.  I quickly take his soul before it could crack and shatter, putting it into a soul capsule.  Toriel thanks me before trying to kill me for finding out her hiding place, but with some consultation, I managed to get her to leave me.  We became better pun buddies after that."

"I remember the 6 demigods we sent up Mount Ebott," Jason says.  "The first one was Jackson, a son of Mars.  Looks like this mystery boy he's talking about here is Jackson."

Leo flips through each page of the diary before coming upon another entry.

"Ah here," Leo says.  "Another mystery date in weird symbols.  Ok, here we go.

"Alphys had called telling me of another human boy, aged somewhere between 15-17, walk out of the doors to the Ruins.  I rush over to the doors and open them.  I see the queen lying on the floor, a nasty stab wound on her stomach.  I summon a bit of magic and use it to heal the wound.  She thanks me and tells me to go and leave her.  I run over to my sentry post.  Before I could get there though, I see the human standing in front of Papyrus, a sword in his hand.  Papyrus, being the innocent cinnamon roll that he is, attempted to embrace him in a hug despite all the dust on the human's hands.  The human didn't take the hug and instead, attempted to slash at Papyrus's head.  I've gotta thanks Undyne for the training she put Papyrus through, cuz if it weren't for the reflexes he had developed from it, he would've been dead.  Out of panic, he had summoned a bone out of the ground and pierced the human's soul with it.  Upon realizing what he had just done, he was overcome with grief.  I quickly took the human's soul in a soul capsule, delivered it to the king real quick, and went back home to console with Papyrus.  Hopefully he'll be fine by tomorrow."

"Adrian," Jason says.  "A son of Mercury.  He was a cunning one, as in movie super villain cunning.  A reason why we sent him down the mountain is in punishment of what he had done a week before we sent him down, which is feed all our houses drugged oats and putting them all to sleep during the horse race event."
