9.

I woke up in the truck. I couldn't hear the truck motor mumbled, or the snoring of all the guys. I looked around at my surroundings. I was in the dessert! There were tiny little trees here and there. The truck was parked on the shoulder of the road. I could see cars passing by. Then the truck door opened up, it was the passenger seat, it was Daemon. He looked so-so ugly, he was obviously tired and dirty lookin'. He looked at me and smiled, and pulled out a map from the little compartment under the seat.

"Good morning beautiful."

"Good morning, where are we?"

"Right out side Las Vegas."

"Oh why have we stopped?"

"We ran out of gas."

"Oh my gosh. Really?"

"Really."

Daemon closed the door once again and walked to the front of the truck, all the guys were standing there looking at the map. I leaned forward and looked at them. I didn't see Todd nor Alex. I'm guessing that the wen't to get gas. I fell back on the the seat and closed my eyes tightly, I was pretty cold. The dessert wind entered the tuck when Daemon opened the door.

I sat there looking at one of the guys till the they noticed me trying to get there attention. I saw Daemon glance at me, but not enough to noticed that I needed him. Minutes later they all looked up, but not at me, but behind the truck. I looked back and I saw Todd ad Alex carrying a gasoline jug. One in both of their hands. I could see that Alex was very weak, after the fight he was a complete butt-face. Maybe I should thank him. That could lighten him up a little bit, right?

I saw Todd pour the gasoline into the truck's tank. While Alex put the other jugs in the back of the truck, he tied it down. Then he walked up to my door and opened it. This is my chance!

"Hi!" I said with my high voice.

"Uh hey." He said sounding depressed.

"Listen, thanks for saving me from that scary group of guys."

"Welcome." Alex said sounding uninterested in my apology.

I was sitting on the seat facing him, but he reached in the snack-bag behind me, totally ignoring me. He pulled out a Hot Cheetos bag and ate. He leaned on the truck door looking at the dessert.

"So are you going to accept?"

"Accept what...you apology?"

"Well yeah of course! Silly."

"Yeah, sure, whatever."

Why is Alex like this? He could do something sweet like joke around but he's serious. I mean no one can't be this stuck up. If only a little bit of Todd's personality rubbed off on Alex I wouldn't mind. But he's so-so strict. Alex closed the door and walked to the other guys. A couple of twenty minuets later, Alex came back. He finished the Hot Cheetos. He crumpled it up and tossed it behind my. As he just about to close the door, I frantically opened my mouth.

"Alex?"

"What?"

"I'm cold."

I could see his face expression change, like from hate to a face like finally you need something romantic from me. He handed me his leather jacket with a grey hoodie under it.

"Here, this should keep you warm." He said so nice and sweetly.

Uh, does this want me to chase after him? It's suppose to be the other way. Boy chase girl not girl chase boy. Well if he going to play hard to get, I will play hard to get the hints. I did get warm in his jacket. With help of the sun rising from the sky. I looked at the time.
