(Present day)

He packed the last bit of 'gift' he would bring, gently wrapping it with a ribbon around it. The boxes are a bit too many, but he will manage to get through with them once he enters the academy. But a note to thyself: the gifts must not be damaged, he must not risk occurring a scene where his head would be on the string.

"Rin!" Called the bundle of joy Sidhe cat, jumping up to the counter where the fledgling stared the gifts around him. Kuro for one hates to be dismissed, so he rubbed his head with the lifted hand of his friend. "How were the gifts? Did they taste great?"

Rin glanced at the affectionate feline, smiling forcefully, and returned the fondness he gives. "Great, sort of."

Kuro halts and glanced up at the boy, "Why? Did the ingredients I brought not right?" Sadly asked the feline demon, pouting to look adorable.

Rin chuckles, "No, it's just..."

To tell a cat about my dilemmas, my father and my brothers would be disappointed with me. Rin was quick to be reminded, he had gone to the certain point where he had gone soft to such existences. If Satan was here to see his actions, he would be not excused and will try to reform him to shape once more. Satan is not so nice as some thought, but still a great father nonetheless. But, the Impure King is strict like steel.

For his brothers, he is sure most of them will be disappointed as well. They had taught him not to be soft, not to be merciful, and not to let anyone take advantage of him. They only want what is best for him, and he ruined it all when he had stepped in Assiah. He shouldn't have taken the deal, it was a burden. He should've forced Samael to come with him, whether he likes it or not.

But damn himself for his consideration. Had he gone so soft, that even the humans he targets have yet to become deceased.

Unbeknownst to the young demon, flames danced around his body in a fitted rage. Gifts are not yet to be burned, but it will soon if he does not stop his thinking.

"Hm?" Kuro tilted his head to the side, a bit frightened but remained still by the side. "Uhm, Rin?"

"Hm?" The youngling looks at the cat, "What is it?"

Kuro backs away a bit, seeing the blue eyes he once adored turned into deep scarlet red. "Your flames..." Were the words he spoke before the tainted flames had danced around the entire body of the demon.

Since his flames are connected to his emotions, he cannot help to be in a blaze at some point. Which is very problematic ever since he obtained those feelings– Satan was happy though when he expressed more than once, so he had thought that day, it would be great to improve his daily expressions. Until he got feelings and everything. He was enlightened when he had made his father happy with the improvement. But not anymore, probably.

"Rin..." The sidhe cat whimpered, the flames are reaching to him and the gifts.

Eventually, the call had made Rin snap out. He breathes in and out slowly to calm his emotions. And just like that, the flames went out.

He glanced at the gifts; sighing in relief. It was great Kuro was there, if he hadn't played the 'past' Rin act before, then there would be no one to help him to snap back to reality. Belial is no good, nor the eldest brother.

Exhausted from his small outburst, he smiled at Kuro. "Hey," he pets the horns of the cat, "Can you scout the school for me tomorrow? I need to give these to them as soon as possible."

Kuro's eyes widen in excitement, "Sure! Anything for a friend!"

Rin winced, a friend huh.
