Soojung had witnessed it all.
She had seen Jeno with another girl, her lips locked with his on the dance floor, her hands roaming places they shouldn't be.
She had seen Jeno break apart from her, dragging her off the dance floor towards the door, pulling her along as the girl giggled to herself, proud of winning the most handsome male at the club that night.
"Soojung, what's wrong?" Ayeon asked from behind her, wondering why the girl was frozen in place at the entrance of the club, Haechan already lost in the crowd, finding his friends. Ayeon's question was soon answered as she caught sight of the male in front of her.
Jeno.
And he was holding the girl's hand in his, the same hand that she had held so many times before.
"Soojung, I can explain!" Jeno exclaimed, immediately letting go of the girl's hand but Soojung turned around just as fast. She had seen enough.
"Ayeon, I want to go." Soojung said, feeling the tears pooling in her eyes and Ayeon nodded, taking her out of the club.
Soojung was glad that the club was crowded that night, Jeno's calls faded into the noise as the two girl snaked through the people, doing their best to lose the male chasing them down. They were soon outside, Ayeon fiddling with her phone as she tried to get a hold of someone that could take them back.
"Mark, are you serious right now? What do you mean they're drunk, Jaemin and Renjun never drink!" Soojung heard Ayeon exclaim before cursing.
Soojung knew that her tears were falling down uncontrollably as she stood there in the cold with Ayeon, the other girl still trying to find someone who was sober enough to drive.
"Ugh, I'm so sorry Soojung, it was my mistake for bringing you here." Ayeon said, giving her a hug. Soojung shook her head.
"You didn't know." Soojung told her. "And I wouldn't have either. Now we really know what Jeno is really like and it was foolish of me to think otherwise."
Soojung knew that Ayeon had something else to say but before it could escape her mouth, her phone rang.
"Hello? Taeil?" Ayeon said, removing herself from Soojung as she picked the phone up. "Yes, I'm at the club. Stop asking dumb questions and hurry up and pick us up, it's freezing."
Soojung couldn't help but smile as Ayeon let out a frustrated sigh. "Men are literally the dumbest creatures on this earth."
"I can't really disagree with that." Soojung said before feeling her heart twist as the image of Jeno kissing another girl burned in her head.
Thankfully, not long later, a car pulled up, the window rolled down to reveal a man. A man that wasn't wearing a Phoenix jacket to Soojung's surprise.
"Yah, Yoo Ayeon, you better have a good excuse for waking me up at this hour." The male exclaimed as Ayeon opened the back door, motioning to Soojung to get in.
"Oh trust me, I do." Ayeon said as she got into the passenger seat herself, the three of them making their way away from the club.
...
Jeno felt like an idiot as he finally got out of the club, watching Soojung get into Taeil's car with Ayeon before the car sped away.
He had lost the girl from the club, his head pounding as he dragged his feet, walking down the dark streets of Neo City alone.
Tears had filled his eyes, making it impossible to Jeno to see what was in front of him. He didn't really care where he was going, he just wanted to get as far away as possible.
