**This is very vaguely Prinxiety. It is a bit romantic but most of it is flashbacks.**

So if you're a Hamilton fan you're gonna know this song. I watched Song Exploder on Netflix and watched the Lin Manuel-Miranda one and they talked about wait for it. After I watched it I gained a different view on the song and I decided to make a one shot out of it.

If you haven't listened to the original please listen to it. Leslie Odom JR, Yknow that person from POF? He does an incredible job singing. It gives to much emotion. His voice is beautiful.

When the song comes up I encourage you to listen to it while you read! It will give more emotion! Obviously Virgil isn't named Theodosia but I don't really wanna try to change the lyrics so. Also just a quick note for the song! Roman is Burr, Virgil is Theodosia and Janus is Hamilton.

Roman rubbed his eyes as his phone began to ring. Sitting up he looked at the time. It read 3:28 A.M. Who the hell was calling him at this time.

"Hello?" He answered sounding drained.
"H-hey"

That got Roman up. He shut up straight as he heard the other's voice.

"Virgil? Are you okay?"
"N-no.. L-Logan l-left..."
"I'm coming over. I'll be there in five minutes."
"N-no it's f-fine"

Roman didn't listen as he got out of bed.

"No. Virgil. You were abandoned by your mother at age nine and your father died at age thirteen. Logan is your husband and now he's gone. You can't be abandoned again"
"R-ro-"
"I'm sorry Virgil but I'm coming over"

Virgil sighed as he sat up in his bed.

"Okay... you do know I can just... y'know.. wait for it"
"Wait for what?"
"For Logan... to come... h-home"

Roman finished getting dressed somehow and stood up.

"No. I'm coming over. You don't have to deal with this on your own"
"O-okay"

Roman nodded even though Virgil couldn't see him. Virgil hung up and Roman walked to his car.

When he got into the car he put his seatbelt on(SAFTEY FIRST KIDDOS) and leaned back in his seat. He let out an exhale and closed his eyes. He began to sing quietly.

Theodosia writes me a letter every day
I'm keeping the bed warm while her husband is away

Roman looked at his best friend Virgil who was walking down the isle. He put on a fake smile when his heart was aching with pain. The man he loves is getting married and Roman is his best man. It was like the universe was taunting him.

He's on the British side in Georgia
He's trying to keep the colonies inline
But he can keep all of Georgia

Three words. Three words Roman wanted Virgil to say to him. The three words Roman wants to tell Virgil. After Roman was woken up one day by Virgil calling him panicking since Logan was suddenly gone Roman began to spend more time with Virgil, making his feelings grow stronger.

"I pronounce you partners for life. You may now kiss" and with that Virgil and Logan's lips met. Applause erupted in the building as the two pulled back. Virgil was smiling, genuinely smiling. Roman looked away as his heart ached with the fact he couldn't make Virgil smile that way. One more thing taken away from him.
