The University

Chapter Four

"She's late again? Lisa, I remember you promised to stick with her all the time"? Chaeyoung asked the two girls sitting opposite to her, those two, even if seated on the same sofa, still maintained a distance between them which could fit a whole person, they have been ignoring each other since they entered the university today. "She had to go to the staff room, the teacher called to meet her personally, now I couldn't go in there with her could I"? Lisa asked, low key sarcastically. 

"Okay" Chaeyoung replied and started eating her food, the two did the same until Jisoo arrived. "Where were you"? Jennie asked straight to the point. But instead of replying, Jisoo sighed. "Lord, am I the unluckiest person in the world for having good grades"? Jisoo asked dramatically as she looked at the ceiling, mentally asking god why she just had to get an A+ in the maths test this time. "What happened now, unnie"? Lisa asked, yet secretly, Lisa knew everything about the matter already, she was aware because he texted her and told her about it, and about how happy he was.  

"The teacher called me, and guess what"? Jisoo asked. "What"? The three girls asked, all with different voices and different moods. "She asked me to tutor a student because so far in this term I was the only student with an A+ on every maths test"! Jisoo whined loudly, anyone could tell that she was disappointed and annoyed by the fact that she had to teach someone, and moreover, it was a subject she hated yet always had good grades in it, surprisingly. 

Jisoo placed the file on the table which contained the information about who it was. Lisa took it and pretended to read it by tracing her finger on every line, then she closed it. "Actually unnie, I don't think it's a bad thing, after all, you'll be helping someone. Like 44 out of 100 is really not something good" Lisa said. "44? seriously unnie you gotta help whoever it is, I'm sure that the person would reach at least 90 marks after our unnie's amazing teaching skills" Chaeyoung beamed with a smile, making Jisoo smile too, Chaeyoung was really the sweetest. 

"Who is it? Have you met the person before"? Jennie asked. "Some Kim Namjoon guy, was one of the top students but recently his grades fell in maths and he didn't even get above than 50% out of 100, so the teacher wanted me, now the top student because his grades ain't high, to tutor him so that he could return in the list of the best students" Jisoo explained. "This is not happening" Jennie replied, wiping off the secret smirk on Lisa's face. 

"Why"? Jisoo asked. "I can't let this happen, you are not going to go to his house and staying with him alone in a room" Jennie panicked. "I can't tutor him in university can I"? Jisoo asked sarcastically. "I don't care, you are not doing this" She said. "And why is that"? She asked. "Because he's a guy, and we don't even know him" Jennie said.  "So, what"? Jisoo asked, clearing out that she wasn't really understanding why Jennie was being so overprotective. 

 "Seriously Jisoo you are not getting what I mean!" Jennie said a bit louder as she stood. "Well then what you mean!?" Jisoo raised her voice at her as she stood too, tired of the useless argument. "I told you before! If boys come between our friendship, then its over! Love can make people kill each other Jisoo! You don't understand!" Jennie shouted.

"You don't understand either Jennie! it's not love no nothing! I don't even know who he is! I'll just teach him some equations and then leave! is that too hard to fit in that brain of yours!?" Jisoo asked, yelling at the girl. "It's a guy!" Jennie was stuck on that one line, she wasn't gonna back off, and nor was Jisoo. 

"Seriously unnie, what is your problem with men? Why do you hate them? You're always dictating us and saying that we can't fall in love, but you're forgetting that it's our lives, not yours, yours had a bad start and that's not our fault, we all need someone who isn't you Jisoo unnie or Lisa, and that's a man, who would love us and we would love him, it's your fate that Kai left you, we might have a different story, and you can't stop what we feel, you can't control us" Chaeyoung fired back instead of Jisoo.

Jennie was shocked, Chaeyoung had never uttered a word on the topic, never, and she never even spoke to Jennie like that before. Jennie had tears streaming down her cheeks on Chaeyoung's statement, but she smiled. "When you all get heartbroken, do tell me so that you won't feel the misery I felt, maybe I would be able to help you from breaking more" Jennie said before grabbing her bag and leaving the cafeteria that was silenced after the argument. 

"What is wrong with her? Is she jealous from us?" Lisa muttered to herself. "What are you looking at!? Show's over!" Chaeyoung yelled at everyone who was staring at them or making videos, they all looked away instantly and put their phones down. She just had to ruin my already ruined mood, who does she think she is? even if Jin's father owns this place, that doesn't mean she can rule on us, the more we want to live normally, the more she makes us popular, Jisoo shook her head at her thoughts. 

Jennie on the other hand couldn't help but to cry, not on what happened, but on everything. She felt so bad, so helpless, like she lost everything again. The reason she lived in an apartment was because her parents were always busy in their work, both had their business meetings and were hardly free, always with a tight schedule, this all was going on since Jennie was a child, she never got the proper care and love from her parents, not just parents love, she was rejected by her first love, then the one who actually dated her was Kai, who dumped her like trash.

With no siblings, the girls were the only thing she had, she was lonely when Lisa found her, then she came to know that Jisoo was her cousin, and why she didn't know that she and Jisoo were related before meeting her? because the lack of spending time with her parents was the reason they never even told her about her cousin. 

The three girls were her everything, her world, the only thing left in her life that was important to her, but with what she just did, she felt like she lost them too.
