Dear Love, have you forgotten me?
Why cant you stay as easily as you came?
Why do we have to go through the motions of figuring you out and learning how to play your game?
Whenever you decide it's my turn again, skip me
I'm tired of waiting around when you don't seem to be in a hurry.
Let it come to you naturally
But with love everything seems the same
Same old pattern with a different timeframe
First sweet beginnings as it should be
Then we go through the hard times now it's 'footloose and fancy free'
Fast forward the time to where happiness will be easy to gain
Where there'll be more joy, with less pain
Where I'll be free to love and not be scared it won't be returned
The life-lesson is being taught and trust me I've learned
Learned to not live my life in vain
To not be easily misled even though my eyes may deceive me
To not let my guard down when my head and my heart don't seem to agree
To not want something I cant have even though my body will ache
To not excuse a lie and pardon it for a mistake
To not force love but to just let it be.
