"There she is, the renegade herself. Done with juvie for the day then?" Kaori smiled innocently as Hana trudged out of the empty classroom that had been holding her hostage for the past hour. It was her first time being in detention in her entire life, and strangely... it wasn't bad.

The teacher was barely in the room for the majority of the session, so Hana spent her quiet hour sprawled out on the desk, her eyes droopy and heavy from the warm classroom. Even when the teacher did pass through, he didn't really comment on the fact that Hana was sleeping in the class that was supposed to be a punishment. That's the perks of being a teachers pet.

Hana brushed past her, ignoring her deliberate attempts to rile her up.
"Ooh the cold shoulder! Hana-chan I may just die from this neglect. I'll have to be careful in case you gift me one of those KO punches you dealt to Kaito." She laughed, siding with Hana and walking steadily beside her.

"Hilarious. Absolutely piss-worthy. I'm literally shaking with laughter Kaori. You're so funny. Where are the others anyways? Why am I stuck with comedy golden girl." Kaori had her head held in the air as she usually had, staring up at the sky with her arms folded behind her.

"They went on home. Funny enough, Ushijima was pretty bent on staying here to wait on you as well... I couldn't possibly wonder what that means." She grinned at Hana with a shit eating smile.

Hana sighed and lighted nudged into her.
"I'm sure that means that Ushijima is a good friend who realised I've never gotten detention before and wanted to check if I was ok. I'm guessing you ushered him away though." Hana scuffed her shoes on the ground as they walked.

She did feel bad for keeping all their friends in the dark about her developing relationship status, but for the first time she genuinely didn't know how to exhibit it. This was a first for Hana in multiple lights, and she didn't like to admit that she was completely uneducated in the field.

"Thats right. I can't always share my girlfriend with Ushijima. Sometimes I fear you're cheating on me!" She sobbed, and Hana laughed at her rambles. Kaori always went on like that, ever since they were kids.

"Not to mention, I wanted to hear the deeper details into that little job you did during lunch. I need all the ugly, honey bunches." Hana's mind immediately darkened, and she felt a twitch in her eye as she looked back to earlier that day when she faced the weasel.

•  Earlier that day...  •

Hana dragged her way through the hallways, reluctant to take each step and wondering if it was really worth her time. Her eyes fell and a classroom, and she gave out a steady sigh. Opening the door she shuffled in as quietly as possible.

"I'm looking for Kaito Kobayashi. Do you know where he is?" she asked one of students. The boy could have been anywhere, saying as it was lunch. He pointed to the corner, where the weasel himself sat, chatting to another boy with his nose in air.

It was now or never. Hana ignored the voice in the back of her head that begged her leave and made her way through the rowdy classroom, her feet stopping directly in front of Kaito's desk.

His nose was now largely swollen, and from under the thick bandage she could see hues of blue and dark yellow on his skin. If he wasn't such a dick then maybe Hana would feel bad for him. Maybe even guilty. Too bad he was such a douche bag.

"Listen, ive come to apologise. What did was a bit over dramatic, and it was my fault i lost my composure. I'm very sorry." Hana declared, her eyes boring into his.

Hana wanted him to realise that this apology wasn't even half sincere, but Kaito being the egotistical person he is, she should've known better. A shit eating grin grew on his face as he rose from his chair to level with her.

"Hmmm, i dont know if i should accept, my nose really hurts. Not to mention I was just being honest, and dont they say honesty is the best policy? What do you think Yusei?" he motioned towards the boy he was talking to.

He was obviously very uncomfortable in this situation, because unlike Kaito, he could detect Hana's cold and quite frankly pissed off demeanor at that moment.

He just shrugged, and went back to his food. Hana sympathised for him, having to endure Kaito's raggedy ass for a whole six hours every day.

"It's up to you whether you forgive me or not. But i just came to say sorry, so I'll be leaving now." Hana turned to leave, already feeling that she had stayed longer than she intended, and wanted to, and yet her path was blocked.

"Not so fast Hana, I haven't made up my mind yet! After leaving me with such a painful injury the least you can do is wait for my response." he said, thoroughly enjoying his upper hand in the conversation.

Hana sighed, her patients running thin. She tapped her foot against the ground and didnt respond, instead gesturing for his answer.

"Hmmm, alright. I'll forgive you this once, since you did come all this way to see me," he smiled, and hana took this as her one way ticket to a trip back to her classroom, until she was once again stopped.

"-On the condition! That I take you out this weekend. Yup, i've decided just this once I'll clear my schedule just for you." he continued, grabbing her hand. Hana made the most disgusted, horrified and rejecting look she ever had, immediately ripping away from his grasp and wiping her hand on her uniform, as if trying to remove his germs.

"Ok Kaito, I wasn't going to say anything due to politeness, but it seems you really are the most repulsive nut case I've ever had the misfortune of meeting. The only reason I'm here is because the principle told me to. I can't stand being in a 3 metre radius of your stank ass, and I will never, EVER, go on a date with you. not in a million years. See you in hell." she said through gritted teeth, leaving Kaito with an embaressed steam wafting over him as he watched hana stomp out.

Present... •

"Ugh I love your bad bitch side. Good job Hana honey bunch" Kaori cooed, latching onto her arm. Hana gripped her arm in return as they walked on.

"I just don't see how someone can get some of the highest grades in the year group and yet not see I detest him. He just spouts absolute crap every time I shoot him down. It's infuriating. Hana complained.

"Yeah I mean your insults are pretty brutal, which is iconic don't get me wrong, I just can't think of why he won't leave you alone..." Kaori then gasped and Hana stopped as she hushed her voice.

"Oh my god Hana, what if he has some random kink about being insulted!" She whispered. Hana snorted at her and repressed her laughter.

"Nah I don't think so Kaori, he's way to far up his own ass for that." She replied. They walked a little further, until Kaori stopped again.

"Oh, I forgot to ask, mind if I borrow your phone to call my mom? Mine died and I need to tell her I'm on my way home in case she needs groceries." Hana handed her the phone and tuned out, not wanting to be nosy as they slowly trudge down the hill.

Finally Kaori said her goodbyes to her mother, and was about to return Hana's phone before something caught her eye.
"Umm Hana? Mind telling me why Ushijima sent you a message 20 minutes ago asking you to his place to hang out?" She asked in disbelieve.

Hana's head whipped around to her, quickly taking back her phone and her mind going from zero to a hundred.
"Uh... well, umm. So basically..." Kaori's eyes widened at her lack of reason.

"Holy fucking shit... YOU AND USHIJIMA ARE TOTALLY FUCKING!"
"NO WE'RE NOT SHUT THE HELL UP."
