The Golden Glow Surrounding His Body

I head into work, a smile on my face, feeling confident. I decided to wear a regular blue dress that flows, and ends at my knees. I put on a white cardigan along with it, and some vans. I head to the back, putting my stuff into my basket, and heading to Gary.

"Gary! What's in it for me today?" I ask him, finding him sitting in the Fantasy section, sitting on the floor, surrounded by piles of books, but he doesn't look stressed, he looks rather happy.

"Daisy! Well, let me take a quick look at the list." He says, moving a couple of books, from his way, grabbing his clipboard. "Looks like you've got to set up the front table near the entrance to showcase the new novel release by Lisa Jewell. Then you can take over the counter with Gabrielle." He finishes, putting his clipboard back by his side, pushing the books he had previously pushed aside, now closer to him.

"Thanks." I say, heading out the aisle, going into the back, searching for the box I needed. I move the boxes aside, trying to find the box labeled "Lisa Jewell NR." I finally find it, grabbing the box perfectly this time and heading back to the front. I go to the table right at the entrance, the one that catches your eyes immediately.

I place the books beautifully, stacking some of them, putting one of them standing up in the middle, the cover sticking out, staring at the customers. I grab the last book from the box, going through it. I couldn't imagine spending hours of my day, reading something that isn't even real. There was only one exception, romance, but I didn't spend hours a day reading them unlike others. I close the book and flip it over.

"The life of Libby Jones suddenly comes to a halt when she meets a guy who catches her eye. She begins to become a little possessive with Cedric Gray, feeling like she needs to know who he is, who he's with, even the size of shoes that fit him best. She does everything in her power to try and get him to fall in love with her, but it might not be as easy as she thought.."

My left eyebrow rises, this seemed interesting, though I'd never read it. This Libby Jones sounds annoying, she seems like the type of character who has absolutely no personality, but suddenly one grows in her soul once she means the one. How gross. I put the last book on the stack on the left, making everything look even.

"Daisy."

I think I pissed myself.

I feel my eyes widen, little me running around my body, full of excitement. I remove my hand off the table, turning around, trying to keep my composure.

"Leonardo, hello." I respond, giving him a soft, genuine smile, he looked as good as always. Today he was in regular deep blue jeans, a gray t-shirt on his torso, sunglasses sitting at the top of his head. The sunlight from outside the front door was shining on his back, as he was standing directly in front of me. The golden glow from the sun surrounded his body, making him look like an angel sent from Heaven. My knees almost gave out.

"Hello, are you busy?" He asks, removing his hands from his pockets, his body language seeming a little nervous. I glance back at the table, the empty box, then the front counter.

"Nope."

~~~~~~
We sit at a table in the back, the section filled with art books that nobody ever read. I fidget in my seat, not being able to sit still. I was too excited and nervous to be near the Man Of My Dreams.
"I know that it's a reach..but I was wondering if you might be able to take care of Melanie Friday nights? After the book club? Me and Bella are beginning to become swamped with work those days, and you asked if you could help so I just thought..but obviously if you can't, I completely understand." He says, his hands tangled together, obviously he was nervous, and taking a risk.
I stare back at him, but then my eyes flicker to the bookshelves surrounding us. I didn't want to take care of a useless child. She'd probably mess up my apartment, want to watch some Barbie show, make me make types of food that I don't even like. But on the other hand, I'd get closer to Leonardo, and he'd have a reason to talk to me.
"I..I'm not sure Leonardo. I mean..it's a difficult choice." I respond, looking back at him, making sure my eyes soften and making it look like I'm looking at him with a look of sympathy.
He lets out a sigh, but nods. "I understand, don't worry. I've got to get going-"
"Wait." I respond, grabbing his hand, stopping him from leaving. He looks down at my hand clasping around his. His eyes widen slightly, he takes a gulp. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to freak you out, I just wanted to talk to you about an idea of mine." I slowly remove my hand from on top of his hand, immediately missing the warmth that was in my palm.
"It's fine." He says, moving his hand away, back to his lap. He licks his lips, looking away at the same time, obviously shaken by what had just happened. Of course he'd be, he's married yet he feels the spark with me, another woman, when we touch. A small smirk reaches my lips, I knew I was getting closer to him, I knew he felt something for me.
"I have a friend, her name is Gabrielle. She is engaged with this guy, his name is Richard. Richard is a babysitter. So, maybe I could tell him about the job? You can look into it, I'll give you his number and everything."
"Seriously? Oh thank god. Thank you Daisy, you're an angel." He says, a slight blush reaching his cheeks as he finishes his last statement. He looks down at his watch, and rolls his eyes. "Sadly, I've got to get going, but I'll be back tomorrow so that we can discuss this offer. Thank you again." He says, getting up from his chair, sending me a smile and a wave, leaving the area and finding his way out through the aisles.
I get up and push my chair in. I rush around the area, making sure no one is around. Once I see it's completely empty, I stand in the middle and jump up and down, moving my arms around everywhere, my eyes closed, feeling like I'm in a romance novel.
"Daisy?" I tumble over and fall one of the chairs and raise my head slightly. I see Gabrielle standing at the entrance of the area, holding bookmarks in her hand.
"Oh Gabrielle, it's just you! I've got so much to tell you!" I say, getting up and fixing my dress, heading over to her and pulling her arm towards the table and chairs.
