Different Worlds? / Batman x Reader (Under Editing)

Back to normal?

It has been three weeks since we arrived in National City.  It has been three weeks since we had to deal with the miscarriage of our baby. It was tough for a couple of days but being with my family and Bruce as well as having to work 24/7 has kept my mind off of things and occupied. The grief was hard and extremely unexpected but I think that even though I would've loved having that child, I have accepted what happened.

My bed rest did not last more than 3 days, I was up by the third day going to the office in National City and leading all of the branches of the company around the world. It was a hard job to do so suddenly but I know that it will all be alright, but I think it is time we go back to Gotham.

"Bruce I think it is time we go back home, I need to settle stuff at the Gotham Branch and the bat has been gone for too long from the city," I said while looking through my old picture albums in my bedroom.

" It is okay, I can stay if you need more time. The boys have got it handled down in Gotham. Nothing of extreme importance has occurred, just some petty crimes." he said while he did pushups for fun.

"Hmm well, that is alright, but I need to go back. You can stay if you want, my mother would love to have you here. She loves that engineer brain of yours."

"Well it's settled then we're going back. Calling the jet for today after dinner" Bruce said grabbing his phone.

"Sounds good, let's have dinner with my mother and Ralph and then we can head back."

Bruce and I continued working throughout the morning, I had started to try and brainstorm for new technology we might build and such but my brain was collaborating at the moment.

"Bruce you know what, I think we should merge."

"Merge? Merge what?" He said looking up from reading on his tablet looking so geeky with glasses on.

" Companies." I said.

"Musk and Wayne Enterprises?"

"Well yes, I think it's going to be a good idea. I trust that even if our relationship does not end up working out we are both adults and we can keep working together right?" I said looking for confirmation.

He put down his tablet and sat in the bed next to me as he curled his arms around my waist and laid his head on my lap. Looking up at me he said " It will work out. You and Me. I know it will. This is different. I have to talk to my board about this before I set anything on stone but on my end it is a yes."

" Alright, I have to talk to my board as well, but I think they will accept. I mean after all we can set some boundaries like you do military equipment and I do medical equipment. We can both do construction since you have better steel and we have better cement and other materials. I think it will work out."

"You have given this some thought. Smart girl." He said still laying on my lap with his eyes closed and a smile on his face.

Suddenly a weird ring that I have never heard before started going off and I identified that the  sound  was coming from Bruce's pocket.

"What is that?" I said following his hand reaching for his pocket and pulling out a weird-looking device.

"The League, they need me at HQ. I have to go to Washington DC rn, I'm calling the bat plane."

"Oh okay, I guess I will see you in Gotham?" I said a bit upset he had to leave.

" Actually no." He said still looking at his weird phone

"What?" I said sounding more upset

" Ah sorry, I meant no because they also want you to come with me." He said showing me a document on his phone.

" Wha-WHat? ME??" My heart was pounding outside of my chest. I was not ready for the field in an assignment as big as those the Justice League handled. Imagine me fighting with aliens or something no way, I would be alien food.

"Yes you, they asked for Miss. Y/N Musk AKA Batgirl specifically. Unless you changed your name again." He said with a smirk on his face.

I did not want to say anything. Even though I was scared and knew that I was 100% not up for the task I still wanted to go. Like who in their right mind would give up the opportunity to go to the Justice League HQ? 

"Alright, when are we leaving?" I said starting to pack up most of my stuff.

"Plane is here, incognito mode on your helipad." Bruce said pointing to the backyard.

"perfect, just let me say goodbye to my mother and Ralph and we can be on our way" I said rushing downstairs looking for my family.

"Mama, Ralph. "

"Here Amore Mio." My mom said from the library.

"Mama, Bruce and I are leaving in 20 min, sorry we can't stay for dinner but business calls." I said jumping in for a hug.

" It is alright, call Bruce I want to talk to him," she said in a very marked Italian accent.

"Bruceeee" I yelled from the hallway hoping he would hear me upstairs.

"Y/N Musk!! What is this yelling in my house. No, No, No. Go up there and tell him I want to talk to him." My mom said treating me like a child.

"Okay mom.." 

I went upstairs and saw Bruce talking to Ralph in my room.

"Hello boys, what are you guys talking about." I said suspiciously.

"Ah just telling Bruce that he is a dead man if he ever hurts my sister," Ralph said jokingly punching Bruce in the arm slightly.

" If you knew Ralph.." I said while I looked at Bruce, both having a mutual silent understanding.

"Bruce, my mother wants to talk to you. She's in the library." I said 

Bruce headed out of the room and went downstairs. It was Ralph and I in my room.

"I like him Y/N" Ralph said.

"I like him too" I said 

"No, but actually, I really like him for you. At first I was like, this is Bruce Wayne the playboy millionaire of Gotham City, he is probably an asshole, but this past few days, even though he is kind of quiet and very serious I can see he truly and deeply cares about you. I would not mind you getting married to this one."

"Well, that is good to hear. I also doubted him many times at the beginning of our relationship, but I think that you are right. I would not mind marrying him either."

Ralph and I talked for a bit and I informed him that Bruce and I were leaving that afternoon. I said goodbye to everyone and we headed to the helipad. The Bat plane, helicopter whatever it was looked like any other typical aircraft but I knew that thing was gonna go full transformer mode with the hit of a button. In the blink of an eye, the national city skyline was behind us and we were entering Washington D.C

Gonna try updating faster guys! sorry sorry, I've been extremely busy with school and I just recently started twitch streaming so I have been focusing on that a lot. Working on a new chapter rn.
