As I arrived at the gala, I noticed it was way bigger than the one I had gone when I first arrived at the Gazette. I will admit I was very nervous, but I knew that as long as I buried my head into my notepad and ignored everyone I was going to be fine.
As I stepped off the company limo and into the carpet that led inside, all paparazzi turned their cameras my way, but eventually realized they didn't know who the hell I was and continued photographing other more important guests. Again, this didn't bother me because anyways this is what I was looking for when I changed my identity.
I entered the building, and couldn't help but notice how full the place was and how lonely I felt. Almost immediately my mind went back to Bruce and how he "broke up" with me. I say "broke up" because pfft we were not even a thing yet, but oh how I wish we were. When I first met him, it was at an event like this one and never in a million years I would've thought that I was going to freaking fall for him but welp here I am, with a broken heart.
I walked around the place with my note pad, writing down about the several speeches that went on. As well, I used some of my fashion knowledge to write about the expensive dress designer and shoe designers that could be seen being worn by the Gotham socialite. As interested as I was in doing my job, my mind still kept going back to Bruce, seeing I was almost done with the information needed for my article I decided to start drinking. It was still early and the party was not going to end for a few more hours.
I was already on my fourth glass of champagne when I felt a hand touch my shoulder. I didn't know what was going through my mind but I hoped it was Bruce, but I was wrong. As I turned my gaze to the person behind me I saw a tall blonde guy, with the most dazzling green eyes I had ever seen.
" You should slow down there Miss." the guy said looking down at my champagne glass and back at me.
"Hunter, Miss. Y/N Hunter. and what's it to you Mr...?" I slurred my words, as I grabbed a fresh new glass of champagne.
"Queen, Oliver Queen, no need for formalities from such a beautiful lady"
Oh shit, I was talking to freaking Oliver Queen, I had heard about him from my friend Sara Lance, he lived back in star city and was the owner of Queen Enterprises, which meant he was pretty darn rich and important.
"Oliver, nice to meet you."
"So tell me Y/N, when you are done with that glass what about a dance?"
I hesitated, should I dance with this guy? Well, who cares, Bruce just dumped my ass and I am starting to feel drunk. At this point, all I cared about was forgetting what an awful day I had.
"Sure, why not but on one condition Oliver, afterward you are in charge of getting me another drink," I said as I grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the dance floor.
"Sure thing, I need one as well" he winked at me and pulled me closer as we danced to a soft blues song which was pretty romantic but I was not seeing it that way at the moment.
As we were dancing to different beats, I could feel him staring at me while I wasn't looking. At this point, I was already so drunk that I decided to have some fun with the situation and flirted with him a little. I glanced at him and gave him a sensual glance, nothing too obvious but I knew he had noticed I was flirting.
Immediately, he pulled me to the side and got us both drinks. He went for whiskey on the rocks and handed me another glass of good ol' champagne. He started brushing my arm with his hand. He then looked me straight in the eyes as he pushed some of the hair away from my face and tucked it behind my ears. He then grabbed my face and planted a kiss on my lips. I contemplated slapping him or pushing him away but instead drunk me decided to kiss him back. The kiss went on for a few seconds before I felt someone yank me from the embrace. That's when I saw him.
