Hanta's povIt was sometime in the middle of the night when I was startled awake by crying. I quickly sat up, switched on the lamp and made my way over to the playpen to pick up my son. His face was red and tears slid down his cheeks.
"What's wrong, Bubs? Why ya crying, hm?" I held him close but he only seemed to cry harder.
"Mmm!" He whined before reaching out behind me. "Mmm!" I turned to see Denki lying still in the bed and raised a brow.
"You want Denki?" I ran my hand through his hair and he reached out again.
"Mmm!" I took Ayuto over and was about to set him down next to Denki, but paused when I noticed the blanket felt wet. I pulled it off of him and gasped as I saw the blood soaking his bandages and sheets. I tried to shake him awake, but to no avail. I sighed in relief when I felt a pulse, but figured there wouldn't be one for much longer if I didn't get Ojiro.
"It's Okay, Baby. Dada will be right back." I kissed Ayuto's head as I left him in the playpen once more. He cried for me and I bolted out the door, banging on Mina's camper door. "Guys, it's me! Open the door!" It unlocked and swung open, a tired, yet alert Mina standing there with a dagger in her hand.
"What the hell are you doing this late, Hanta?" She lowered the weapon and I took a deep breath before speaking.
"I need Ojiro, Now. It's Denki." I left her at that, knowing she would get him over to me. I went back to my camper, where Ayuto's crying hadn't stopped. I bundled up Denki's blankets and pressed them to his side in hopes of slowing the bleeding a bit. Ojiro soon ran in, moving my hands away.
"Do You know what happened?" He glanced at me before cutting off the bloody bandages.
"No, not really. He must've rolled in his sleep and tore his stitches. 'Yu woke me up crying and I only found out because he wanted Denki." I wiped my hands on my pants and figured I'd wash the blood out later.
"Okay, here, keep pressure on it until I can stitch it back up. He didn't loose too much blood, despite what it looks like." He handed me a clean piece of cloth and I nodded pressing down on the wound.
There was a lot of blood on my hands now. I felt my head spin and took a breath to steady myself. It didn't work much, considering all I smelt was the metallic scent of blood. Between the scent, feeling, and sight of the blood, as well as my son crying for me in the background, I felt dizzy. My stomach churned and I could see my vision start to blur as my ears started to ring. Other people stepped into the room and before I knew it, everything went completely black.
-
"So, you remember when we were looking for food in that mall?" I lowered myself onto the bed in front of my boyfriend, who was leaned against the headboard. He nodded before taking a sip of his water.
"Yes, I do." He smiled. "What about it?" Denki put the cap back on his water and sat it in his lap.
"Well," I scratched the back of my neck with a small smile. "I know it's kind of the zombie apocalypse, and we haven't been together for very long but.." I sighed and looked him in the eye. "I love you. And it's not like we're gonna get many other choices out here so-" I pulled a small box out of my pocket.
"Hanta-" Denki raised a brow, but his smile stayed present. I flipped open the lid of the box and pulled out a ring.
"I found this and it reminded me of you. I never thought I'd get to use it, but, Denki Kaminari, will you marry me?" I bit my lip and the boy in front of me nodded, wiping a tear from his eye.
"Yes." He held his hand out and I slid the ring on, placing a kiss on it before doing the same with his lips. "And I guess since there won't be a ceremony, we can just say were already married now. We're husbands." He laughed before turning his head to the side with a cough.
"Yeah, husbands sounds nice." I nuzzled our noses together and kissed him again. "I think you should get some rest now." Denki nodded and I helped him settle down in the blankets.
-
My eyes slowly opened and I squinted at the light before smiling at my dream. I looked down and realized I was on top of my blankets as memories from the night before rushed back. I must have passed out.
"Really, Hanta? Can't handle a little blood?" I looked over to see Denki smiling at me and scrambled out of bed, grabbing his face in my hands.
"It wasn't just a little bit of blood. That was a lot of blood." I chuckled and kissed from his forehead and down his nose, pressing a last one to his lips. "You're okay though, right?" I trailed my hand down to his fresh bandages and he nodded.
"Yeah. Ojiro said if Ayuto hadn't made you walk over here, It would have been a lot worse. I was bleeding pretty bad, but you caught it really early." He leaned his cheek into my hand and I swallowed, nodding. I laid my head on his chest as I kneeled to the floor, feeling his hand come up and rake through my hair.
"Where's, 'Yu?" I closed my eyes and his words vibrated through his chest.
"With Mina. She came and got him about an hour ago." He continued to pet my head as I nodded and he sighed. "I think I like your short hair better than your long hair. It makes you look sexy." He tugged on my hair as I snorted and opened my eyes.
"Okay, you horny brat. You've gotta wait until you're healed." He groaned and I laughed, climbing over him to lay on his non-injured side.
