Hanta's povFor three days I've watched Denki sleep, only waking him up for a few minutes at a time to drink some water. Ayuto was in my lap as we sat on the bed and played with wooden blocks together.
"Dada?" He looked up at me and I smiled.
"Yes?" I ran my hands through his hair and he looked over to Denki and pointed.
"Mmm!" He squealed and I chuckled, shaking my head.
"What?" Ayuto huffed and grabbed his sippy cup, shaking it as he looked at me again. "You want more water?" I grabbed the cup and he smiled.
"Wa!" He clapped his hands together and I stood up, leaving him on the bed. I waved to him as I walked out the door and he waved back. I grabbed a water bottle and poured the water into his sippy cup before walking back into the room. I paused when I didn't see him on the bed but raised a brow when I saw him climb up into Denki's bed.
"Dude, you can't climb. How did you get up there?" I walked over and saw Denki's head turn towards me tiredly, his hand resting on Ayuto's back so he didn't fall off the bed. "Oh." I sighed and my son squealed again.
"Dada! Mmm!" He patted Denki's chest with his chubby little hand before laying down, resting his head where he had pat.
"Hey, you should let Denki sleep." I went to pick him up but a hand stopped me.
"He's fine." His voice was scratchy, but Denki smiled slightly and raised his hand to rub the baby's head. "Just leave him." I nodded and Sat beside him, handing Ayuto the cup so he could drink his water.
"How you feeling?" I reached over and rested my hand on his opposite hip.
"Shitty. But better than I did." He smiled at me. "Also starving." I chuckled.
"Well, if you'd stay awake long enough, we could get some food in you. All you've done is take sips of water." I rubbed his hip affectionately and he rolled his eyes.
"Oh yeah, let me just practice-" he cut himself off as he dropped his head to the side and pretended to snore. I laughed and flicked his forehead playfully, causing him to chuckle. He winced and placed a hand over his side. "Not a good idea to laugh." He took a deep breath and Ayuto sat up, getting in Denki's face.
"Mmm!" He rocked back and forth on his hands and knees and I sighed.
"'Yu." He looked back at me and I tugged on his ear gently. "What does that even mean? What's 'mmm', mean?" He giggled at me pulling his ear and patted Denki's chest again.
"Mmm!" I smiled and ruffled his hair.
"Okay, Buddy. Whatever you say." Leaning over to kiss his head, I felt Denki grab my hand and I squeezed his.
"Tell me about him. I mean, if I remember right, we weren't separated long enough for you to get someone pregnant, wait for them to give birth, and then for the baby to grow for, what? A year? I think the fuck not." Denki furrowed his brows.
"Yeah, no." I chuckled. "We found his mom when she was around seven months pregnant. Her husband had left her for dead so we took her in. We became good friends-"
"Friends?" Denki smirked.
"She was more like my sister." I shrugged and continued. "Anyways, she told us she wasn't going to survive having the baby so I promised I would raise him as my own and protect him. And I have. I still will." I smiled as my son climbed off the bed and waddled away to find a toy to play with.
"And You called him 'Yu?" He tilted his head.
"Ayuto. I named him after you, actually." I scratched the back of my head and felt my cheeks flush. "It means Samurai." Denki snickered.
"I'll be happy to teach him. As soon as I can get out of the damn bed, that is." He gestured to his side. I nodded and it was quiet before I hummed.
"What about you? Where in the hell did you get the name Sami? What, just as an S instead of a K?" I laughed and he smiled but shook his head.
"No. I'll tell everyone the whole story when I can get up and out of here but I ran into this group. They were a bunch of weirdos." He looked to the ceiling and I could practically see him flipping through his memories. "They were so peaceful, and caring though, so it was alright. I saved their leader. He was the first person I ever saved. They wanted me to be their leader but I told them I wasn't their leader, and I didn't want to be." He huffed. "So they called me Sami. It means higher, or exalted I think. I guess I just took it and ran with it." Denki shrugged and looked back to me. I raised a brow.
"So that basically still means leader, right?" I cracked a smile and Denki did as well.
"Yeah, basically. But, it's okay. They gave me enough food to last for a while and I just continued helping people. I just always seemed to be in the right place at the right time, ya know?" I nodded and looked back to see 'Yu playing before turning my attention to Denki.
"I think I'm still processing that you're here and it's not just a dream and I'm not going crazy." I took a breath as I felt tears in my eyes.
"Hey, I'm here." He took my hand and put it on his chest so I could feel his heart beat before blowing on it as well. "And I've been awake for ten minutes, and not once have you even thought about kissing me." He pouted and I laughed.
"Well, I didn't know if you'd want a kiss." I shrugged and was met with a dead pan stare. Denki held up his left hand with his ring on it.
"You asked me to marry you, remember? Of course I want a fucking kiss." He grabbed my shirt and pulled me down closer to him.
"Hey, hey now." I put my hand on his chest as he raised a brow. "How do I know you aren't actually a talking dead?" I held back a laugh and he reached up to whack the side of my head gently.
"Shut up. It was one time. One. Now kiss me, please?" He stuck his lip out in a pout and I sighed, leaning down the rest of the way.
"Well, how could I say no to that?"
