As the sun replaced the moon, I found myself sprawled out on the hard floor,my body angled at an awkward position, centered near the closet.

I sat up with a groan, digging my fists into my eye sockets.

The sound of the door creaking open startled me for a half second before I realized it was my mother.
"Good morning, dear. How are you feeling today? Are you still upset?" She asked.

I rolled my eyes standing up in the process. "Don't do that!"

"Do what?"

"Act like you care, because I know you don't" I muttered through my teeth.
She flinched slightly but managed to recoil herself.
"Just get dressed, we'll be leaving soon" she said flatly, turning her back to me as she left.

Cracking my back, I slugged my way to the shower.
I was almost ready to go to fall back to sleep when the lukewarm water hit my body.

I silently headed down stairs to the kitchen keeping my eyes glued to the floor.
There was a place for me set at the table. I sat down and silently ate my breakfast, not saying a single word. The silence was unruly but I kept my mouth shut.

"Do you have anything to say for yourself?" My father finally spoke, his thick voice erupting through my shield. I glanced at him before letting my gaze fall on the tattoo of a small Eagle inked on my wrist.

I distinctively remembered begin grounded for three weeks after getting it.

He sighed raking a hand through his salt and pepper hair. "Sky..."

"Richard , I think it's time to go" my mother cut in shooting me a look.
I gulped the last of my orange juice and scrapped out the remainder of what was on my plate.

Dad was quick to grab my bags when I tried reaching for them. "I got it" he said. I huffed making my way to the car.
The breeze blew my hair in every direction.

Across the street I spotted Candy taking out the trash. She looked over at me, eyes widening just the slightest before scurrying back into her house.
My eyesbrows creased as I slowly lowered my hand that was about to send a wave.

What the hell was her problem?
Shrugging my shoulders I stepped into the car plugging in my earbuds.

Bringing my knees to my chin I wrapped my arms around myself.

I didn't know what my parents will expect out if this. The only reason I had been so calm this morning was because I was still in shock of it all.
It hadn't really registered that I would be going to a boarding school.
I didn't understand why my parents were being so cruel to me.
I'm not some broken chair that they can just take to a handy man, then have it brought back all new looking and shiny.

God I'll just be glad when I turn eighteen in two years, two long long years, it stood there just at the horizon teasing me, taunting me.

After about an hour of driving, I began to feel my eye lids get heavy. I was still rather sleepy from my discomfort last night and instead of fighting it, I allowed myself to fall asleep. It wasn't ti'll much later that I felt a shaking on my arm. I rubbed my red eyes before opening them.

'' We're here" My mother said. I looked out the window as the car was beginning to drive through tall bleak gates that stood intimidatingly at the entrance.

We began to curve through the pavement until a large lean brick building came into view.
I sucked in a sharp breath, my fingers repeatedly tapping against my knees.

The vehicle came to a stop.
Through the tented Windows I could make out a tall redheaded women standing there near the entrance.

I forced myself to get out the car. My father also got out jogging to the back of the car to get my suitcases.

"Hello my name is Mrs. Miller how are you?" The beautiful women beamed smiling with sparkling white teeth that could blind a bird.

My father stumbled on his words and I could see too that he was amazed by her jaw dropping looks. Her skin was as pale as milk which made the spark of color in her eyes pop.

"So this must be the notorious Skylar Matthews" she grinned looking me up and down as I copied her action.

"In the flesh" I said with an obvious fake smile.
My mother rolled her eyes.
And she wonders where I get that from.
"It was nice meeting you Mrs. Miller"said my mother.

"I really hope this'll straighten her out, I horribly miss my little girl" my father explained. I felt like vomiting right on the Mrs. Miller's red pumps.

He was so full of shit it made me want to cry. "Well, this is the perfect place. We are trained professionals when it comes to dealing with delinquents"

Delinquent, did this bitch seriously just call me a 'delinquent'? She and everyone here can literally go fuck themselves.

"Well if that's all, I'd love to go ahead and escort her inside" Mrs. Miller stated tapping her polished fingers against her glass clipboard. My father wiped his usually sweaty hands on his jeans looking rather nervous.
"I guess this is goodbye then" my mother said stepping up to give me a hug. She wrapped her arms around me and squeezed me tightly. I left my arms dangling by my sides.
This hug wasn't real.

She finally released me and let my father have his turn. When he was done ,the two returned back to the car. "Shall we be on our way?" Mrs. Miller asked, a slight twinkle in her eyes. "I guess" I mumbled blankly.

I watched as my parents drove away, feeling like a neglected puppy, then followed Mrs. Miller into the building. A life of dread awaiting me
