Lucas's POV

I stood behind the counter of what once was Sydney's bakery, greeting the last group of customers with their custom orders for their holiday festivities before I closed up the shop for the next two weeks with holidays quickly approaching.

"Henry! Stopping in one last time before we close, huh?"

"You know me! I can't resist another one of Sophie's surprises!" he answered with a chuckle and I opened up the display shelf and take one monstrous cookie out for him.

It was Syd's idea to rebrand both our bakeries and combine our locations into two shops. Now called Amour Désordonné, which in French means messy love. Once a week Sophie works with Sydney to create her own masterful concoction, this week being her famous messy extra chocolate chip cookies.

"Thank you, Lucas

"Thank you, Lucas. Give my love to Sophie and another congratulations to you and Sydney!"

"Thanks, Henry! I will!" I say helping him walk out the door as I flip the closed sign on the window.

I walk down the bustling snowy streets to our second location, my old store, and can't help but smile to myself turning the corner where I spilled my coffee all over Sydney. Practically the start of it all besides her yelling my ass off in my store. What my life would be like if we never met, if I had never nudged Margie enough times to get her to convince Syd to come into my store, to never have suggested a fun-filled gingerbread house bake-off. This year has brought so much magic and love into my life and I have never felt happier.

"Hey, Josh! Hey, Naomi" I greeted Josh who's been my employee since the start, and Naomi who now works at this location so she can work alongside him, her boyfriend and soon to be fiancée, if she says yes, which we all know she will.

"Hey, that Christmas rush went by fast!" they commented how soon I was able to close down the other bakery.

"Are they still working on it back there?" I ask and they nod with smiles.

"Leave it to Sydney to not trust anyone else with her own wedding cake!" Naomi said poking fun at Sydney as I walked back to the kitchen to see the masterpiece for the first time.

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and will also be the happiest day of my life. The day I get to call Sydney my wife. With both of us coming from small families, we wanted to celebrate our love during the time it all happened so Abbie, my parents, and Syd's parents both flew out for the wedding as well as to spend the holidays together before we fly off on our honeymoon - which was also decided by Sydney that she didn't want to leave Sophie behind so we made it more of a family vacation to Disney Land, in Paris! To say that Sophie nearly exploded with excitement is the understatement of the century!
