Chapter 48

*Sofia's P.O.V.*

The boys and their girlfriends stayed with us until lunch time. The doctor came in to check up on Niall a few times during that period of time and he said that he was recovering really well. He even said that if he kept up this way he could probably get discharged in less than a week!

"Oh baby, we came as fast as we could!" Maura burst into the room, nearly in the verge of tears. I had texted immediately after Niall woke up but they were already flying to LA so she got the message once they landed and they came straight to the hospital.

"Hi mom. I'm okay." Niall smiled at her from the bed as she approached him, tears streaming down her face.

"Hi son, hi Soph." Bobby came to say hi as Maura continued to hug her son.

"Hi dad." Niall replied over his mom's shoulder.

"Oh god, I'm so sorry Soph. Hi, how are you?" Maura came straight to hug me after she let go off of Niall.

"It's okay don't worry. I'm much better now, how are you?"

"A bit tired, I'm not gonna lie, but so happy to see that Niall's awake."

"Yeah, the doctors said they weren't expecting him to recover this quickly."

"What can I say? That's how amazing I am." Niall chimed in making us all laugh. 

Niall's mom insisted that I should go home and change and rest for a bit, I hadn't left Niall's side since the accident and I was in desperate need of a shower. After a lot of debating, I reluctantly agreed, I was afraid to leave Niall's side, but I knew that his parents would take really good care of him. 

"I'll be back as soon as I can. I'll just go home take a shower, pack a bag and come right back." 

"It's okay petal. I'm going to be okay. Take your time, I'll be right here waiting for you. It's not like I could go anywhere anyway." He laughed.

"Oh Niall." I chuckled as well.

"Well, I'll see you in a bit."

"Yes, go ahead dear. We'll take good care of him."

"Thank you so much." I answered, hugging everyone goodbye before leaving the room. And that's when it hit me, how was I going to get home if I didn't have a car anymore? As soon as Niall's out of the hospital I'll buy a new one. I decided to call an uber and thirty minutes later I was back home. As soon as I walked through the doors I saw my suitcases lined up in the living room. Cami and Harry must've dropped them off before heading to the hospital, that was so sweet of them. And I was really thankful for that, since I had taken most of my clothes with me when I decided to be stupid and run back to Mexico after our 'break'.

"Hi sweetie, how are you?" My mom called me a couple of minutes later. We had been texting all morning and I told her that I had just gotten home to rest for a bit.

"I'm so much better now. I'm so happy that Niall woke up."

"I'm so happy for you both. I told you that everything was going to be okay."

"Yes, and you were right mom. I honestly don't know what I would do without you." I started tearing up. 

"Oh sweetie don't cry."

"They're happy tears."

"Well in that case, cry away then." She laughed. 

We kept on talking for a while as I packed my bag, I didn't tell her that Niall and I got into a fight and that I had flown back to Monterrey. She would've given me crap about it, letting me know how stupid I was and then getting even angrier for not going straight home when I got there. Some things are better left unsaid, I knew it would only cause more trouble, that why I decided to keep it to myself. 

As I was about to get into Niall's car to get back to the hospital, my phone started ringing. Fuck, it was Vic, I hadn't even called her to tell her about Niall's accident. Shit.

"Okay bitch, I gave you more than a day so you and Niall could make up, so spill." She greeted me.

"Vic." I answered in a serious tone, and she immediately knew that something was wrong.

"Fuck, what happened? Are you guys not okay? Did he not forgive you?"

"Niall got into a car accident."

"What? What the hell are you talking about? Is he okay? Please tell me he's okay."

"He's doing better now, but he's still in the hospital."

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry. Why didn't you tell me before? Here I was thinking you guys were so busy having make up sex and that that was the reason I hadn't heard from you. God I feel awful."

"I'm so sorry that I didn't tell you. These past few days have been absolutely awful. Ever since our fight I couldn't think straight."

"It's okay I totally get it."

I talked with Vic for about an hour, I told her everything that had happened, and I'm not gonna lie, a few tears were shed on my side, while she tried to comfort me over the phone. And time after time she kept reminding me that this wasn't my fault and that I should't blame it on myself. She told me the same thing Niall told me, that accidents happen and that there was nothing I could do about it. Hearing it from her finally made me believe that this hadn't been my fault, because even if Niall didn't hold me accountable, I still felt a little guilty deep down, but Vic convinced me that this was in no way my fault. Honestly what would I do without Vic in my life? I need her and love her almost as much as Niall, and I was so happy that I had them both in my life. I don't know what I'd do without them.
