Still The One (Niall Horan)

Chapter 24

~June 15 2021~

*Niall's P.O.V.*

"Happy anniversary." Soph whispered to me as the clock struck 12.

"Happy anniversary petal." I replied. "I love you so much."

"I love you so much as well. You're seriously the best thing to ever happen to me."

"Right back at you." I replied before kissing her. She didn't know it yet, but tomorrow I was planning on recreating the day I asked her to be my girlfriend. I told her I had a ton of meetings in the morning, since the tour was about a month away, but I'd told her that I'd be back home on time for dinner. She was in for a big surprise, and hopefully it was a good one. About an hour later we both fell asleep, since I needed to wake up early for my so called meetings and I had asked Vic for help, she was going to have a crisis very early in the morning that demanded that Soph be up and running.

"Ughh." I heard Soph stir in bed as her phone went off, right on time, just like Vic had promised. "What?" She asked as she answered the phone, not happy at all. I was trying to suppress my urges to laugh, but I knew that if I stayed there I wouldn't contain it any longer so I mouthed good morning to Soph before making my way to the bathroom. She came into the bathroom a few minutes later.

"Everything okay?" I asked as she splashed some water on her face.

"Yeah, it was just Vic having another one of her crisis. I swear this girl has no boundaries." She answered, making me laugh.

"Well, at least now we'll get to have breakfast together."

"Oh yeah, the silver lining." She replied before placing a tender kiss on my lips before grabbing my hand and leading me down stairs.

"Wow." Was all that came out when I saw the kitchen. She had decorated the whole room with balloons and pictures of us, and she had made us breakfast.

"You like it?"

"I love it babe, thank you." I answered, still in awe. "When did you make all of this?"

"Last night after you went to sleep. I had it all prepared and hidden in the linen closet, so when you fell asleep I came down to set everything up."

"Wow, it looks absolutely amazing."

"Glad you like it. And I was obviously going to come down to have breakfast with you, I had already set up my alarm and everything, but then Vic called, so I'm sorry if you're running a little late."

"Oh not at all petal. Actually, I have something to confess."

"What is it?"

"I don't have any meetings scheduled for today."

"You don't?" She exclaimed before throwing her arms around me.

"No, my schedule's all clear."

"Oh my god! I'm so happy. Why would you tell me you have meetings all day?" She lightly smacked my arm.

"Because...."

"What?" Her impatient self interrupted me.

"Because I have a surprise for you as well."

"Really? What is it?" She started jumping up and down like a little kid.

"Can you wait until after breakfast?"

"But...it's our anniversary. I want to know now." She gave me the puppy eyes, and she knew that I couldn't resist it when she made that face, so obviously I caved and told her the plan for the day.

"We're recreating our first official date."

"We're going to Disneyland?" She squealed.

"We're going to Disneyland."

"We're going to Disney, we're going to Disney." She started chanting as she skipped around the room as I stared at her, I was seriously head over heels for this woman.

"Come on petal, let's have breakfast." I laughed as she finished her 5th lap around the kitchen.

"Coming."She replied before sitting next to me to enjoy our typical breakfast, pancakes with Nutella along with some egg and bacon sandwiches.

"This tastes amazing."

"Thanks baby. I only made the pancakes though, the sandwiches I got from McDonald's.

"Well, it's all delicious, so thank you."

"No problem. So, at what time are we leaving?"

"In about an hour. Is that okay?"

"That's per-fect." She mocked Liam, making me crack up.

We had an amazing day at Disney, we even had the same tour guide that was with us last year, Troy. Everything was absolutely perfect, we did get stopped a few times by fans, but this time, everyone knew about Soph and I so we didn't have to hide our relationship. Some fans even wished us a happy anniversary, which was very thoughtful of them and none of them were rude to Soph, which I was thankful for, they all were extremely nice.

"Ready for dinner?" I asked Soph as Troy took us to the restaurant we dined in last year.

"Yeah, I'm starving."

"Let's get going then." I grabbed her hand and led her inside.

"Right this way, Mr. Horan." The hostess greeted us. I 'd called ahead and asked if they could set up the terrace for us, so that we could have dinner there and enjoy the fireworks at the same time. I came here yesterday, while Soph thought that I was in a meeting, and helped them set up, adding pictures of ourselves and other personal touches. It looked great, if I say so meself, and I had only seen it during the daylight, so I bet it's much better at night when it's all lit up.

"Wait, we're not having dinner here?" Soph inquired as we were led through a back corridor.

"No." I answered as we walked up the stairs.

"The terrace?"

"Correct." I replied.

"Here you go." The hostess stopped at the door and opened it for us.

"Oh my god Niall, this looks amazing." Soph exclaimed as she walked towards the table we had set up. And it did look pretty good, the lights and candles made it so much better, it looked really romantic.

"Glad you like it petal." I whispered into her ear as I hugged her from behind. Seconds later she turned around to kiss me.

"I love it, thank you so much. And I love you."

"I love you too." I replied before we sat down to have dinner. Right as they brought out the dessert the fireworks started, making this a memorable ending to a memorable day. By now I was a 1000% certain that Sofia was the woman I wanted to spend my life with. I couldn't wait for the tour to be over so that I could pop the question. Although, now that I think about it, I have to buy the ring first, since I'm not going to be able to buy it on tour. So, I have about a month to get her the perfect ring, I'll call Vic first thing tomorrow morning. I'm pretty sure she knows exactly what ring Soph was, I overheard them talking about a pinterest wedding board, whatever that is, last time she was in town, so I'm assuming they've talked about rings too.
