Still The One (Niall Horan)

Chapter 7

*Sofia's P.O.V.*

As soon as I saw Niall appear on stage, all of my worries washed away. I loved seeing the spark on his eyes, being on stage with his 4 best friends in the whole world. He looked so happy, and that made me happy. Tonight was all about him, I tried to clear my mind about the fans and the mean things they were saying about me, trying to enjoy the night with my Nialler. Niall got to seat between Harry and Louis, and I could already picture him complaining later tonight about not understanding all of their inside jokes and him feeling like the third wheel.

"Hi guys, how are you?" Liam asked, and the crowd cheered even louder.

"Wow, I didn't know they could scream even louder than they already were." Eleanor practically had to holler so that Cami and I could hear her over all of the screaming.

"I know right." I laughed.

"It's nice to be here with all of you." Zayn continued speaking on stage.

"I swear my ears are gonna burst." Camila chimed in, making us all crack up.

"Yeah, we've missed this." My baby spoke, and he earned a collective aww from the crowd. So precious. I could see Niall scanning the crowd, probably looking for us. And no, I don't think too highly of myself, but he did tell me that he'd look over to where I was during the Q&A and the concert, that's why I knew he was looking for me in the sea of people. We'd stayed on a corner, since I didn't want to make my way through the crowd and get hate all over again. I'd had enough for the night already, there was no need to go looking for more. The fans started asking questions and Niall still hadn't spotted me, I could see his eyes scanning the crowd over and over again. After several questions were asked, Niall finally turned to look my way. I put on a big smile on my face and waved ah him. He kept looking over at me all throughout the Q&A, he was smiling at me every time, but I could tell that he knew something was up. And he made it really evident, since he kept looking my way every few seconds, as if to check up on me. 

30 minutes later, the boys ended their Q&A, and according to their schedule, which Niall had forwarded to me as soon as we got here, they now had a 30 minute break before they had to be up on stage again for the concert. A minute after they left the stage I felt my phone vibrate in my hand, I didn't even need to check who the message was from, I already knew it was Niall.

N: Hi babe, are you coming backstage? And I knew that even though he was asking the question, it was more like an order. He wanted me to come backstage, so of course, I obliged. If I declined his offer he'd know for sure that something was up and he wouldn't enjoy the night. 

S: Yeah, me and the girls are heading there right now. 

"Guys, I'm going backstage, you coming?" I asked them.

"Yeah, let's go." Eleanor replied, taking my hand and I took Cami's as we made our way backstage, navigating through the sea of people who had dispersed a bit. 

"Loved the Q&A." Camila spoke up as soon as we reached the boys.

"Thanks love." Harry answered her as he went to hug her. Niall hurried over to me and hugged me too.

"Everything okay baby?" He whispered into my ear. I wanted to tell him everything that had happened, but I didn't want to ruin his night, so I decided to lie and tell him everything was okay. I'd tell him all about the hate tomorrow morning, no need to have him worrying over me on his big night. 

"Yes, everything's perfect. I loved seeing you on stage with the rest of the boys. You look really happy and I love that."

*Niall's P.O.V.*

"Everything okay baby?" I asked Soph as soon as she walked backstage. I needed to know that she was okay, or I wouldn't be able to focus on the concert. 

"Yes, everything's perfect. I loved seeing you on stage with the rest of the boys. You look really happy and I love that." She replied, but she wouldn't look me in the eyes, and I instantly knew she was lying. Plus, she had tried to change the subject, which was another major indicator. I didn't feel like pressuring her in front of the boys, so I let it slide. I would ask her about it as soon as we got home, maybe when we're finally alone she'll open up to me and let me know why she was crying. 

"I loved being back on stage with them. it's amazing, it feels just like the old days."

"Mate don't say shit like that, you make me feel really old." Louis interrupted our conversation and made Sofia laugh.

"You'll always be a kid at heart Lou, don't worry." She responded to him. And she was right, Louis would always be a child on the inside. He was the oldest one out of all of us, yet he acted like the youngest one. 

We all kept on talking for the rest of our break, and I kept on looking over at Soph, to see if there was any indicator about her not being alright, but she was acting just fine. If something had bothered her, there was no trace of it now, or maybe she was really good at hiding it. I just hoped it wasn't the latter. 

"You have to be back on stage in 5 boys." Lauren came to tell us. We all started saying goodbye to our girlfriends.

"See you out there." I told Soph as I hugged her.

"Yeah, have an amazing concert babe. I know you'll do great."

"I'll try my best. Let's hope I don't mess up and get nervous, since the prettiest woman on the entire planet will be watching me."

"You're such a cutie. I love you." Soph's cheeks flushed.

"I love you too petal. I'll see you back here as soon as the concert's over."

"Yep. Good luck!" She pecked my lips really quick and then hugged me one last time. She started walking away with the girls. Maya and Gigi had stayed backstage wile we did our Q&A, but they were going to head out with Eleanor, Camila and Soph to watch the concert. "And don't fall, that goes for you too Harry." She hollered, making us all crack up. I just hoped that nothing was bothering Soph, and that she had cried over some silly thing, and not because of hate or something like that. I knew how the fans could be and how easily they could break her, I don't want to see her hurting because of that ever again.
