Still The One (Niall Horan)

Chapter 29

*Niall's P.O.V.*

"Are we sure this is a good idea?" I asked a bit nervous. I knew Soph had had a hard time dealing with hate from the 'fans' in the past and I didn't want that to happen again. I didn't want to expose her to the whole fucking stadium and risk her getting more hate because of it. We were finally in a good place in that sense and I didn't want to ruin it for her.

"Oh relax Nialler, everything will be alright." Louis told me, in an annoyed voice. I'd been telling them that this wasn't a good idea since Liam sent us the video to the group chat and Louis suggested that we played it on stage tonight.

"Yeah don't worry. They're probably gonna find it hilarious." Harry sided with Lou, like they always do.

"Fine, I'm trusting you." I replied, still not a 100% on board with the idea.

"When have we ever let you down or did something to betray your trust?" Louis spoke.

"Oh, I trust Harry, but don't even get me started on you Tommo."

"Me? What have I ever done to you?" He acted offended, while I just raised my eyebrows at him. I remember perfectly how he slapped me during one of our takes for the "This is us" movie and then how he bribed everyone with food so that they would use that shot for the movie. And he succeeded, so now every time Soph makes me watch the movie, which is at least once a month, I have to see Louis slap me right at the beginning. "Fine, fine. I've played my fair share of tricks on you."

"Yes, you have."

"I'm admitting it." He stressed.

"Thank you."

"So it's settled then right? We're doing it?" Liam asked us all.

"Yes." The other three answered in unison.

"Nialler?"

"Fine. But if they get mad or something bad happens, you better tell them that I wasn't on board with the idea."

"Sure, okay." Liam answered while Louis rolled his eyes at me. I just glared back at him in response.

"Ready to hit the stage guys?" Paul came out of nowhere and asked. I swear this guy is everywhere.

"Yeah, let's go." I told him before we all followed him to the platforms from which we were appearing on stage.

"Make sure they play the video." Louis instructed him.

"Please." Harry added, while turning to look at Louis, who apparently had no manners at all.

"During Perfect right?"

"Yes please." Zayn told him.

"You got it." Paul smiled. "Now let's go. It's show time." He ushered us to the platforms and a few seconds later we were in front of thousand of screaming fans.

*Sofia's P.O.V.*

"I'm gonna kill them if they play the video." Cami told us.

"I'll help you." I replied.

"Well get your weapons ready then because I'm a 100% sure they're gonna play the video." Maya laughed. And then we spent the remaining minutes discussing which weapons we were going to use to end the boys after the concert. 

The concert started and everything was going great, they opened with No Control, same as in the other shows they'd played, they did the dance and the fans went crazy. And from there on it went by pretty smoothly, but I wasn't enjoying it quite as much. I was very nervous, I didn't want them to play the video in front of the entire stadium. I mean, I know I post a lot of videos and pictures of myself and the boys on tiktok and instagram, but I control that. I like having control over which aspects of my life I share with the world, and this was something that we did for fun, and just for us to see, not for the entire world to see. I was pretty sure that as soon as the video started playing it was going to get uploaded to twitter and instagram and people are going to start hating on us. Especially Cami and I, since we're just normal girls, we didn't have modeling careers before meeting the boys, and we certainly don't have one now, so they're going to start saying that we're using them for fame and shit like that. I've been coping fairly well with online hate, but I'm pretty sure that if they ply the video, the hate we will receive will be a lot, and I'm not sure if I can handle it. I'm not known for handling online hate well, it affects me a lot. I was on edge the whole concert, since Perfect is one of the songs from the encore, so that was fucking great *sarcasm*

"Here it comes." I spoke in a barely audible voice, as the boys reappeared on stage to sing the final three songs.

"I'm gonna kill them." Cami voiced through her teeth.

"We have a little surprise today." Louis started speaking.

"Fuck." Maya whispered.

"Our girlfriends recreated the Perfect music video and we think it's amazing." Liam continued.

"So we decided to play it for all of you tonight while we sing the song." Zayn added, and I noticed that Niall was awfully quiet and looking down the whole time. 

"So here's perfect. And to set the record straight, Niall was not on board with the idea Soph!" Louis exclaimed into the microphone before he burst out laughing and Niall just shook his head.

"We can spare Niall." Eleanor smiled at me. So maybe I wasn't going to get mad at Niall, only the rest of the boys for embarrassing us.

"Yeah, we'll only end the other 4." Gigi added before the video started playing and the boys started singing. 

It wasn't too bad, I mean, sure everyone was recording and this was going to be all over social media in less than five minutes, but we didn't look bad at all. We actually did a pretty amazing job both with the 'acting' and the editing of the video. I was proud of us. I just hope that the fans aren't going to come for us and cancel or drag us on social media. I'm able to handle every day regular hate, but after an event or something big, it usually tends to get much worse, so I hope I'm able to handle it. I don't want to spend our two free days in New York crying and being depressed over hate messages.
