∼October 15, 2022∼

*Sofia's P.O.V.*

The wedding plans are well under way. We already decided that the wedding will be in Los Angeles, because it would be kind of unfair to have it in one of our hometowns and not the other, and because this is where we live, so we thought it'd be easier to plan. Turns out it's a lot of work to plan a wedding, especially when you don't have your family here to help you. But that's about to change, we flew in my mom, Niall's mom, Valentina and Vic for the week so that they can finally help me choose a dress and help with some wedding decisions as well. The girls have been very helpful and they've helped me decide on lots of things, along with Niall, who surprisingly is very involved with the wedding preparations, but it'll be nice to have family here as well to help. 

"So where are we going?" Valen asked as soon as we hopped into my car. I had bought a new one a few months ago, Niall had insisted on paying for it since he was the one involved in the accident, but I didn't let him pay. It was my fault that he got into the car accident in the first place, I wasn't going to let him buy me a car as well. 

"Well, there's only one store in the Los Angeles area that carries the brand that I really want to try, so that's where we're headed to."

"Viero Bridal right?" Vic asked. She already knew what my favorite brand was after spending countless of hours going over my wedding pinterest board. 

"Yep." I smiled. "We're here." I announced half an hour later as we pulled up to the store. 

"Hi, welcome to Viero Bridal." The sales lady greeted us.

"Hi. Thank you." 

"Do you have an appointment?"

"Yeah, under Mendes."

"Oh perfect, follow me." She guided our party towards the couches and offered us drinks. "So what are you looking for?" She asked me. 

"Well, I want a dress with lace, I definitely don't want it to be strapless, and I was leaning towards and A line dress or a mermaid style." I told her. 

"Perfect, come with me and we'll pick some dresses.

"I also had 2 dresses that I really like, I have the pictures right here. And I wanted to know if you have them? They're by Milla Nova." I showed her the pictures on my phone.

"Oh those are gorgeous! And yeah we do have them! I'll pull them out for you as well so you can try them on."

We finished picking out dresses, my mom picked out one, Valen and Vic picked another one and so did Niall's mom, and the stylist helped me pick another 3. So I had 8 dresses in total. The rest of the party headed back to the couches to wait for me and the stylist and I headed to the fitting room. I decided to save the Milla Nova dresses for last. 

I tried on the first 6 and although we all loved them, I didn't feel like they were my dress. It was finally time for the first Milla Nova dress and as soon as I saw myself in the mirror I knew it was the one. You know how people say that when you try on your perfect dress you just know that that's it, well it turns out that it's true. As soon as I saw myself in it, tears started streaming down my face, and I knew I had found the dress I was going to use on my wedding day. After I wiped the tears away, the stylist helped me out of the dressing room to go and show my party. 

"Oh my god." Vic exclaimed as soon as she saw me. I couldn't stop smiling as I walked towards them. 

"You look gorgeous sweetie." My mom added, and I saw her eyes getting teary. 

"You really do." Maura chimed in as well.

"I love it." Valen finished. 

"I think this is it." I announced as I stood in front of yet another mirror and admired the dress in a different lighting. 

"Should I bring out a veil then?" The stylist asked.

"Can I try on the other one, just to be sure?" My indecisive self asked.

"Yeah of course."

So I tried on the other dress I had in my pinterest board, and I felt special and beautiful in it as well, but it didn't make me feel like the previous dress had made me feel. So 15 minutes later, I was back in the 7th dress, ready to try it on with a veil. When the stylist put it on, there was not a dry eye in sight, we were all tearing up a bit, even Vic and Valen. It was safe to say that I had found my dress.

"So, will you say yes to the dress?" The stylist asked me.

"Yes." I smiled.

My mom insisted on paying for the dress, and although I was reluctant at first, I finally caved in and let her buy it for me. It was such a nice thing for her to do. 

"We're home." I announced as soon as we walked through the door, but there was no answer. And that could only mean one of two things, Niall was either watching golf or in the music room. I checked the living room first and saw that he wasn't there. So then I headed towards the music room and I heard the faint sound of music. "Babe, we're home." I announced yet again as I opened the door.

"Oh hi petal. I didn't hear you." Niall stopped playing piano and turned to look at me. 

"It's okay don't worry."

"So, how did it go? Did you find a dress?" 

"I found a dress." I exclaimed, I couldn't contain my excitement.

"I can't wait to see you in it."

"I can't wait until you see it either. Ugh, I wish I could just show it to you right now."

"We don't want to give our mothers a heart attack, you know how they are about traditions." Niall spoke, making me laugh.

"I know, I know."

"Just a few more months until I get to see it."

"And just a few more months until I'm Mrs. Horan."

"I like how that sounds."

"Me too." I leaned in to kiss him. I couldn't wait to tie the knot with him.
