Ashton’s POV

Come on Ashton, just go ask. She won’t care. Why are you getting so worked up?

I had been pacing in front of the kitchen where my mother was making supper. I had to ask her if I could meet my dad.

As much as I really didn’t want to see him or even acknowledge his existence I had to do it. For Luke. For Luke. I repeated in my head over and over.

I needed to find him and get him back. I needed to do all the things I wanted to do with him before, but never did. We needed to go on that date that we never got to go on.

If I don’t find Luke, my entire future will be empty.

I suddenly stopped pacing. For Luke. I didn’t know what my mother would say. I knew she hated my dad and didn’t want me seeing him. Even though I knew she would never stop me from seeing him, I was still worried for some reason. For goodness sakes, this wasn’t even the difficult part of my mission.

For Luke.

I entered the kitchen and my mother looked up from the cutting board. Then she looked back down and continued cutting carrots.

“Hey mom, can you put that down for a sec?” I asked, wringing my hands.

“Sure sweetie, what’s up?” My mother looked completely innocent. Her large blue eyes smiled at me.

For Luke.

“Well I was thinking and before I ask I just want to say that I don’t want to make you uncomfortable and if you don’t like it thats totally fine-”

“I don’t have all day Ash, just get to the point.”

‘Oh. Okay. Um, can I- can I meet dad?” I said slowly.

“Sure you can. Sweetie, I’m not going to stop you from seeing your dad, if that’s something you want to do and you’re completely sure, then I can call him and you can set up lunch or something.” I mentally sighe. Thank god for my amazing mother.

“Thanks mum.”

“Hey Ashton, I think you should ask your siblings if they want to go too. It’s their father too.”

Oh crap. I can’t have Harry and Lauren tagging along! It would be messy. I just needed to get Luke and get out of there as fast as I can.

I decided to Lie. “I already asked them… they said they didn’t want to.”

“Really? How come you’re the one that wants to meet him and they don’t? You hate him more than they do.” My mother questioned.

I just shrugged my shoulders and left as soon as I could before my mother started asking more questions.

I dropped my backpack in the entrance to my house. I shivered, it was freezing outside and I was still cold.

My mother rushed in to meet me.

“Where have you been?” She asked.

“The buses wouldn’t start because it was too cold so we had to wait.” I explained.

“Your father is going to be here soon to pick you up. Hurry up and get ready.”

“Okay okay.” I went upstairs to get ready.

I looked through my closet. I have nothing nice to wear. Ninety percent of my closet consists of black jeans and band tees. Then add in a bit of plaid.
