Luke's POV

I shakily stepped out of the vault. I had not eaten in days. That feeling of starvation came back to me, I had never wanted to feel like that again but it was back and it felt worse than ever.

I saw Ashton, he stood there looking at me like I was nothing. His eyes were bright red and dull. The passion that once was in his eyes whenever he looked at me was gone.

My heart tore into shreds as I realized I had done it again.

The first time I fell in love was with Jack. (A/N Jack is not Luke's brother sorry if that was confusing but whatever I can't change the name now). I had managed to get him killed as well.

It was the summer of 1981, Jack and I had been hanging out in a secret club in New York. It was all the rage in the moment. I was able to get us into the club with some vampire tricks I had learned over the years, like if you show your eyes and teeth to the bodyguard, they would usually get scared and let you in.

I made sure to tip them well of course.

Jack and I danced to the music, our bodies pressed close together. I looked into his eyes, I was truly happy and I wanted nothing more to be with him in that moment.

His eyes were a dark brown, so dark they almost looked black. It was like staring right into his soul.

Jack had been drinking and when he drank, he always took control of every situation and his confidence flew through the roof.

He kissed me. Hard. He brought his hand to the back of my head and brought me even closer. I moaned into his lips.

I felt his heart beating to the sound of the music.

He pulled apart and brought his lips to my ear, tugging at them with his teeth before he whispered "bite me."

I brought my mouth to his ear lobe, tugging at, then making my way down to his throat. Leaving faint marks on his skin until I actually bit him.

Jack moaned in pleasure and fell into my arms. I let go, licking the blood away from the bite wound.

I felt Jack being pulled away from me, a group of vampires now surrounded us. They knew. They saw.

"A vampire and a human getting kinky on the dance floor? We want in." The purred and looked at Jack with lust.

One of them licked their lips at Jack and then looked at me "aren't you going to share?".

"No, he's not a piece of meat! I love him!" I protested, trying to pull Jack away from them.

They didn't listen to me, they only surrounded him more. At once, each of them attached their mouths to Jack, draining every drop of blood.

I ripped every one of their bodies away from Jack but it was too late, there were so many of them and they drank fast in groups.

I looked around the club to see if someone had seen but they were all so wasted that they either didn't care or they hadn't seen. I sobbed at the dead boy in my hands and pushed my hair through my heavily gelled quiff, messing it up and bringing pieces of blonde hair to my face.

Then a thought came to my mind, if a human dies with vampire blood in their system, they become a vampire. It wouldn't be too late to turn him.

As soon as I thought it, I pushed the thought to the back of my mind. NO. I couldn't do that. It would be incredibly selfish of me.

I picked up the dead boy's body and made a vow to myself to never love a human ever again.
