~At the orphanage~

"C'mon, I'll show you where I slept." I enter the building and jog up the stairs, snatching a first aid bag on the way, him following close behind. I open the door and enter. "Here we are." I present with wide-open arms.

"Woah. That's a lot of bunk beds."

"Here, sit. This is my bed." I set the first aid kit beside me as I start opening up everything I need to clean his wounds and my own. Putting on some gloves I get to work. "This might sting a bit, but bear with me okay?"

"Okay. Besides I've had worse." He shrugs at me. I pause and look up at him, before turning my attention back to his injuries while pressing my lips together.

After fixing him up the best I could, I used what was left and took care of my hand.

"You seem like you've done this before." He notes from his position on the bed while looking down at me. I was still on the floor, sitting on my haunches and wrapping my hand with a roll of medical tape between my teeth.

"Hm?" I tilt my head at him, wrapping my hand with the gauze a few more times.

"Ya' know, patching up the cuts and pokes and scrapes and stuff. Believe it!" He scratches the back of his head.

I take the tape from my mouth and chuckle, "I believe it, alright. This whole place is accident prone so I've had practice." I give him the half-truth. This place is indeed accident prone and I have helped out Mayumi when someone scrapes a knee a little too hard. However, my experience comes from raising two kids and seeing my three grandbabies, along with the medical training I went through to support a friend through med school. I joined her for her CPR certifications and first-aid classes. Was never as good as her though.

I put away the rest of the kit and put the waste in a bag to be thrown out.

He looks around poking and prodding different things, from the dressers at the end of the bunk beds to the bunkbeds themselves.

I laugh, gathering up my blanket and folding it. It was a gift from Mayumi. She tries her best to make every kid feel at home until they get their own home, by giving them presents for their birthdays. After I told her I liked the colors green and gold, she made me this blanket. It's dark green, with a gold border and a gold panda face in the middle. It's very warm and I have used it every day since. I like all colors but go Packers.

I get on my knees and reach under the bed.

Shop.

The menu for the shop opens and I search for bags. I select the cheapest one, which is a small black duffle, big enough to hold the blanket and a few other items. I confirm purchase and it appears in my hand and I pull it out from under the bed and stand up. Putting the folded blanket into the left side and hauling it to the dresser. I glance over at Naruto and see that he's looking at one of the kids' drawings on the wall. I open my side of the dresser and pull out my undergarments, putting those in first. Then my 2 other pairs of shorts, and shirts on top. I grab my toiletry bag and set it in the middle of my clothes and the blanket and then I shut the drawer, zip up the bag, and sling it on my shoulder. I grab the waste baggie and the kit and walk toward Naruto. I don't bother with the pillow, it isn't technically mine anyway.

"Alright, I'm done." I hop into the spot next to him, jarring him slightly and he looks at the bag on my shoulder.

"That's it? I thought you'd have more." He looks at me curiously.

I just shrug. "This is everything that I own personally. Everything else is the orphanages' property. There are a lot of others here and it gets pricey having to buy everyone new clothes every time they grow out of it, so we just wear hand-me-downs until they get too torn up, minus undergarments. Besides, kids grow too fast to get them a whole wardrobe full. Mayumi gave me money occasionally for helping around so much, so I was able to get myself some clothes that I can take with me, though it's not much." I motion the bag by shrugging my shoulder.
