For the past three days, Kakashi has been on a relentless search. His precious Icha Icha Paradise has gone missing. He didn't know when it first went missing, he swears he had it when he went to bed, and then it was just gone the next morning. He looked high and low, destroyed his apartment twice, and ran all over the village. He ran into Rei; she offered to help him search, much to his relief, but was left fruitless when the sunset came and no book had been found. They checked the training grounds, a few shops he went into the day prior, and the Hokage's office. No dice.

The next day he was on his own, looking in the places they missed the day before, destroying his apartment once again. He decided to retrace his steps but found no book. He decided to cut his losses and buy a new one. Until he went to the store and found they were sold out. Every single Icha Icha Paradise book, gone. Not a page was left. He had two choices left: wait for the next shipment or find his book. He couldn't wait that long for his precious book, so searching was his only option. He was in the middle of the plot after all.

The third day came around and he hadn't slept a wink. He was pulling his hair out trying to find it. He tore up his apartment room by room, shelf by shelf, he even cleaned every speck of dust afterward, thinking maybe he lost it in the mess. His apartment was sparkling by the time he was done, but no book. He solemnly flopped on his couch before an idea struck him. His summons! Of course! Pakkun would be able to find it no doubt.

Except he couldn't. He summoned Pakkun and all he got out of it was that it was in his room last, and then vanished. No trace, no trail, no scent to follow, just gone. It was as if it disappeared out of thin air. He decided to try once again around the village, triple-checking all his stops.

It was almost sundown when he approached the training grounds, slumped over, and in a slight haze. He was book-deprived for three days, he didn't know how he had lasted this long when something caught his eye. Rope on the stump. He went around and saw his precious orange book tied to the stump and fell to his knees. He had checked here the first day, with no luck.

He quaked as he pulled off the sticky note attached to the cover. 'Not so nice being tied to a stump, now is it? Cross me again, and it burns' with a little flame drawn next to it. His soul floated from his mouth as he sweats bullets.

Who could have done this? Why? The only one tied to a stump by him recently was Naruto, and there was no way he would be able to pull something like this off. Kakashi racked his brain as he stared at the book. He took a sharp breath at the realization. The one person it could have been was the person who helped him look for it. Rei. She had done this, he had no doubt. But why? He didn't tie her to the stump, he tied Naruto.
