"You're going on a C-Rank! No fair!" Naruto whines, sitting at the table across from me while eating breakfast.
"Sorry, precious, I don't decide the missions. And if I'm being honest I'm more excited about the wedding." I giggle, pushing my scrambled eggs around my plate as I talk. I made eggs, bacon, and biscuits for breakfast this morning. I get a little tired of making and eating purely Japanese food and Naruto has an amazing response to the other non-traditional foods I make.
"Who cares about some stupid wedding. You're going to leave the village on a C-Rank mission! Believe it!" Naruto squirms in his seat. I finish my plate, and walk it over to the sink and start cleaning up.
"Yeah, I'm a little nervous about it if I'm being honest. I've never left the village before." I laugh nervously with a small smile, music playing softly in the background.
"You'll do great, believe it!" Naruto encourages.
"Thanks, precious." I smile wider to myself and dry off the dishes while putting them up. Naruto walks to the sink and starts doing his. "I'm going to go double-check everything."
I head into the bedroom as he acknowledges my statement. I recently learned how to use scrolls for storage which is awesome and inconspicuous. I use less space and don't have to carry as much this way, which is great because my backpack is small due to my small frame. I'd rather not have to carry a backpack twice my size, thanks.
I check the clothes, my weapons, my mouse money pouch- which was a buy one get one half off with Naruto's frog pouch and holds the rest of the allowance the Hokage gave us up until now, and anything else I think I might need on hand.
I could just carry everything in my inventory, but that defeats the whole 'don't let them find out' thing. Besides, I could still reach into the pack and pull it out of my inventory anyway without them seeing, as long as it's not too big or anything. I sling the backpack on my back and bounce into the kitchen.
"Alright, I'm going to head out now. Have fun on your first mission, and good luck. There's a prepped bento in the fridge for today, and I made dinners for the rest of the week so you have variety even though I should only be gone a few days. The milk is fresh and there are also ramen cups in the cupboard and I did laundry two days ago so everything should be clean." I list off and Naruto just comes over and hugs me.
"Yeah, yeah, don't worry about me. I can take care of myself. But thank you, and good luck. I'll see you in a few days, believe it!" He grins widely at me, which makes me give one back as he walks me to the door.
"Ok, bye now." I kiss his cheek and giggle. I leave the apartment and Naruto waves at me until I'm out of sight. I make my rounds waving through the streets of Konoha with my bright smile and head over to the Uchiha compound. I leave a stack of bento boxes, each individually wrapped, and take the empty one that I left on the window sill for him yesterday. I left a note pinned to the top one that said I was going to be unable to bring him the lunches for a few days, not to eat them all in one go, and wishing him luck on his missions.
I made it to the Hokage's office and stood with Sota-sensei, the others had yet to arrive. We greet each other with a smile and wait for the others who arrive shortly. Sota-sensei goes to get the scroll from the Hokage.
