AFTER ROSALINE was finished bathing her companion, she decided to join the conversation in the office with rick, maggie, daryl, glenn, abraham, and jesus. she'd entered just in time to hear jesus take his turn to talk. rhaegar hopped on the couch, laying down.

"negan is the leader of a group called the saviors. as soon as the walls were built, the saviors showed up." he explained, "they met with gregory on behalf of their boss. they made a lot of demands, even more threats and he killed one of us. rory."

rosaline shot a look towards her fiancé, "just like back out there on the road. they wanted what little we had even if it meant killing us."

daryl nodded, "they kill people, a lot. right?"

the long-haired man threw his gaze to his feet, "rory... he was sixteen years old. they beat him to death right in front of us. said we needed to understand, right off the bat."

"that's almost not any older than carl." rosa placed her hand on her head, trying to grasp what she'd just been told.

worry was already clouding her - daryl had killed these people. if they found them they'd want revenge.

rick seemed to catch what she'd said as his eyes flickered with concern trying to keep listening to what the man had to say.

jesus swallowed the lump stuck in his throat, "gregory's not exactly good at confrontation. he's not the leader i would've chosen, but he helped make this place what it is, and the people like him."

"he made the deal." maggie concluded.

"half of everything. our supplies, our crops, our livestock, it goes to the saviors."

glenn frowned, "and what do you get in return?"

"they don't attack this place." he answered, "they don't kill us."

"why not just kill them?" daryl proposed.

jesus glanced at him, "most of the people here don't even know how to fight, even if we had ammo."

"well, how many people does negan have?" rick interrogated, his tone agitated by the sound of this person.

it doesn't sound like this man stops at anything to get what he wants; he uses his people to do his dirty work too. killers, degenerates. who knew if he had rapists?

he shrugged, "we don't know. we've seen groups as big as twenty."

"there were almost ten on the road when we were out." she informed, letting out an inward breath. this sounded like trouble.

daryl interrupted them, "now hold up. so, they show up, they kill a kid and you give them half of everything? these dicks just got a good sorry. the bogeyman, he ain't shit."
