SOON AFTER daryl and rosita agreed on the terms of their trip, daryl got a truck ready for them to drive in. it wasn't one of the best, but they had to use it up.

"you be careful out there." rosaline reminded him.

he jerked his chin at the gate, "i always am."

"alright." she gave a single nod, patting the hood of the truck. it started, the person on guard duty opening the gate for them.

he drove away giving her a single wave. she looked to the sky, a few dark clouds lingering. a dark feeling took over her, but she tried to shake it off.

despite it being hot, rosaline felt her hands going cold. again the blood was rushing to the centre of her body and prioritising it. she needed to improve soon or she'd have trouble.

rhaegar appeared in front of her, barking with excitement, a stick in his jaws. the dog had just been with carl who was reading a comic on the porch with judith in his lap.

rosa approached after chucking the stick for her companion, hands grasping the railing as she arrived on the porch, "hey."

"hey." carl said, taking his eyes off of the comic for a moment, "you okay? everyone has been saying how you look off lately. heard you and daryl down the street earlier when i was walking him."

she sat herself down on one of the steps whilst rhaegar rushed inside to take a nap, laughing quietly, "i should be fine, maybe i'm just not eating well enough."

"i mean yeah, whatever you make you don't eat fully. daryl is always finishing it for you." the teenager pointed out, giving her a stern frown.

she shrugged, "i lost my appetite, and besides not that daryl complains getting more to eat."

carl smirked playfully, "are you calling him fat?"

"no!" she giggled, "he just doesn't like to waste food, and he likes if i make things to eat."

     "sure." he smiled.

he sighed, standing up as judith fussed seemingly becoming a bit more uncomfortable with staying in the same spot for too long.

rosaline rose to her feet, taking the little girl into her arms with a huff. she was getting heavier, she'd grown up. when the girl studied her, she looked more and more like lori every day.

it made her heart swell at the memory of the kind woman. she missed her and hoped she was watching over - just as much as she wished for her little brother and biological mom to do so.

carl went inside, "i'll make you sandwiches. you should come to eat."

although she felt no hunger at all, rosaline knew she had to eat. the young woman had very little that morning, if anything.
