GLENN AND t-dog tried anything to kill the walkers in the riot gear, but any sort of weapons they slammed into them didn't pierce the shields. of course, that armor was made for that purpose.
"daryl!" rick roared, asking for some help to lock the gate in order to prevent any more walkers from spilling into the courtyard. he cut the head of a walker, sprinting for the gate with the marksman.
both of them managed to get there in time to close it. meanwhile, maggie was struggling with another walker until she flipped her knife upwards, stabbing the biter through the bottom of its chin, killing it.
she grinned triumphantly, "see that?!"
"that's the way to kill them. come on!" rosaline shrieked out. the girl stormed over to one of the walkers, grabbing the top of its helmet and striking her blade through its throat.
t-dog and glenn followed, taking down another one of the walkers. daryl had used the same method, except with the back of the walker's head. maggie rid them of the last walker.
the place was cleared out.
everyone started to walk around checking for any blind spots until rick spoke up, "stop."
"it looks secure." glenn said to him.
daryl pointed to where all the walkers were gathered, "not from the look of that courtyard over there." his eyes landed on a dead walker, "that's a civilian."
"the inside will be crawling with them then," rosaline declared, wiping her bloodied knife on the body of a walker.
t-dog nodded, "could be coming from the outside of the prison."
"well if there are walls down what are we gonna do?" glenn queried, "we can't rebuild this whole place."
rick looked at him, "we can't risk a blind spot. we have to push in."
he led them over to a grated area, leading to a bridge that went above the courtyards. it let them enter the interior of the prison; when they first opened the door everything was dark.
a cell door had been left unlocked, letting the former sheriff push it open. an ear-splitting creak bounced across the metal walls, causing rosaline to cringe.
whilst rick gazed around, they walked into a place that looked like a cafeteria for the most part. steel rusted tables with chairs to sit on were placed here and there, a guard post overlooked them.
