ROSALINE SLOWLY made her way down the hall, to where she thought the rec room would be. jenner had shown it to the group earlier so she came through it only to be stopped in the doorway by shane.
"oh uh... sorry there rose," he apologized with a shaky breath quite frantically, it reeking with alcohol, and then stumbled down the hallway.
shane was drunk. rosaline knew she could tell from a mile. rolling her eyes she came in to see a fearful lori.
putting two and two together, the girl could guess what had happened. shane had come to her looking for an explanation that she wasn't giving willing to give.
"lori..." the brown-haired girl sighed and walking towards her, her arms extended. the older woman pulled her into an embrace, stroking the back of her hair, her breath ragged and frightened. rosaline knew that shane had been quite jealous about the situation and like he had 'been kicked to the curb'. however, she didn't expect him to go into a fit over it.
there was more to that man than she knew.
"rose... he just came in here and-" she began her eyes swelling with tears but rosaline only hushed her to ease the cries in case anyone heard. the group didn't need to find out about what happened between the two adults, "i'm sorry sweetheart..."
"it's not your fault," rosaline reassured rubbing her back up and down, "just dry your eyes up and head down to rick and carl."
"yeah... yeah... i'll do that." lori nodded and then took a tissue out of the box that had been placed on the coffee table and walking out. rosaline shook her head and started to wonder when shane was going to snap about the whole situation.
the advice that she had previously given lori still stood, but it needed to be at the right time when everyone was stable-minded. it was for the best. although, the right time would need to be found soon.
slowly, she began to browse through the books, looking carefully at the covers until she spotted some about herbs and plants; this would be useful in case some medicine needed to be made.
"finally some good books..." rosaline whispered taking all three books and walking back to the room she shared with daryl.
when she came back in, the man was already sitting down on the couch with what seemed like the only best friend he had, rhaegar, laying on top of his feet reaching up to his torso from him being so large. it was a habit he had gotten into when beds were short - he'd sleep on top of rosaline even though she was quite small to have his whole body on top of her.
"comfy there?" rosaline shook her head with a grin. placing the three books on the bed and climbing in. rhaegar's head raised and his ears perked but he decided to keep in place.
