Ch. 11

Skylar looked down at their hands ''And the truth?''

Hunter sighed letting go of his hands and started to move away ''The truth'' he repeated ''If Mylo knew the truth of his mother, it would kill him.'' He walked to the other wall and leaned his left shoulder against it as he looked down ''We were engaged at one time'' he said softly ''I used to think she was the love of my life. We were young, happy and didn't have a care in the world. For the longest time, she said she didn't want a family. She only wanted it to be us. In fact, she hated the idea of kids. She thought they would take the love away that we had.''

Skylar stood there listening as he went on ''Then one night, she woke up and ran into the bathroom. It was early morning'' Hunter lifted his head ''Thinking she was just sick, I took her straight to the ER. Once they came back with the tests, the news we heard was unreal. I was overjoyed. We were going to start a family together, but she hated the thought. After taking her home, she started to talk about aborting Mylo. I didn't want that of course.''

Hunter turned his head looking at him ''She tried so many times to kill him. Then when that didn't work, she tried to kill herself. I wasn't going to let anything happen to either of them'' he turned his head away and looked down ''So, I did something truly unthinkable. I locked her up and had her watched at all hours of the day for nine months. Of course she hated me for it and even broke off the engagement. At the time, I didn't care about that. All I cared about was the safety of my child.''

''Hunter'' Skylar slowly started to make his way towards him, as he heard the hurt in his voice.

''Once she gave birth, that was it'' Hunter said with tears slowly running down his cheeks ''She wanted nothing to do with me nor Mylo. She said that if I was to keep him, then I would never see her again. Like a good parent, I chose Mylo over her and I would do it all over again if I had to.'' He finally pushed off the wall and turned looking at him ''If you were to even make me choose like that, it will always be Mylo.''

Skylar bit his lip as he reached out and took hold of Hunter's hands smiling ''You did what you had to'' he said moving close to him ''A parent should always choose their child over all others. But I, unlike her, would never make you do that. Having you and Mylo, is like having the family I have always dreamed about.'' He wrapped Hunter's arms around his own waist as he looked up at him ''Her loss is my gain. Mylo is my son and if something were to ever happen where we were to part, I would still be there for him. I will treat him as if I was the one who had given birth to him.'' Skylar laughed ''Although that is not possible. But the fact remains, he is mine and I will fight anyone who says otherwise. And I will hurt anyone that tries to hurt him.''

Hunter started to cry more as he closed his eyes and looked down towards the floor ''Sky.''

Skylar laughed as he reached up and placed his hands on Hunter's face using his thumbs to wipe away the tears ''Shhh'' he said softly as he brought their foreheads together.

Hunter kept crying as he pulled Skylar close ''Always be mine Sky'' he whispered softly ''Please. Don't...don't ever leave me. Stay with me. Stay with Mylo. Stay with us both.''

''Of course'' Skylar said laughing more ''I wouldn't have it any other way. Both of you are my life.''

Hunter pulled away to look at Skylar for a moment, but then quickly smashed their lips together kissing Skylar deeply. Skylar let out a soft moan as he kept hold of Hunter's face. Without a thought, Hunter picked Skylar up only to carry him off to the bedroom. Once they were inside, Hunter closed the door and locked it. He then turned and walked over towards the bed. Placing a knee on the bed, Hunter gently laid Skylar down, never once breaking the kiss. Not wanting to waste more time, he quickly removed Skylar's shoes first, then removed his shirt, tossing it on the floor next to the bed. As he sat up, he removed his own shirt, tossing it on the floor next to Skylar's.
