Ch. 10

Skylar sat there with Mylo while they waited for Nik. Ella was sitting next to them when they heard a set of footsteps running down the hall. Skylar lowered his head and looked away as he slowly moved his arms away from Mylo. Soon the door slammed open with Hunter standing there and Nik behind him breathing hard.

''We should go'' Skylar said to his mother. He then turned and knelt down in front of Mylo ''Be good. I'll see you again.''

Skylar stood up and headed towards the door only to stop ''I was thinking about leaving town again'' he said still refusing to look at Hunter ''Now that this has happened, I will be leaving for sure and I will make sure he leaves with me.''

Just as he was about to leave, Hunter reached out and grabbed ahold of his arm ''You're not leaving'' he turned and pulled Skylar into a soft yet tight hug ''No one is leaving.''

Skylar smiled softly as he pushed away from Hunter ''I am and I will'' he said.

Skylar quickly walked out before he regretted not staying. Hunter stood there for a moment, then asked Ella and Nik to watch Mylo. Soon after he ran out of the building only to find Skylar standing next to his mother's car. He ran up behind him and wrapped his arms tightly around Skylar's waist.

''I'm sorry'' he whispered in his ear ''I'm sorry. I should have been there and I wasn't. I'm sorry Sky, please forgive me.''

Skylar bit his lip hard as he hung his head and closed his eyes, trying to fight back the tears ''Why'' he finally said after a moment ''Why were you not there?'' He pulled and turned looking at him with tears running down his cheeks ''Why'' he shoved Hunter hard ''Not once did you show up.''

Hunter reached out and pulled him close once more ''I know'' he said, placing his head on top of Skylar's, whose face was hidden against his chest. Hunter didn't know what to say at first as he felt Skylar crying ''I blame myself'' he finally said ''I wasn't there to protect you and I was scared that if I went to the hospital, there would be a chance you could have died.''

With shaking hands, Skylar reached up and wrapped his arms around Hunter ''I missed you so much'' he cried ''I hated that you weren't there. I hated not being able to see you.''

''I know baby'' Hunter said moving his head down to Skylar's neck ''I have missed you as well. I regret not seeing you. Not being able to hold you.''

Skylar finally pulled back and looked up at Hunter only to have their lips smashed together. Letting out a soft sigh, Skylar closed his eyes and kissed him back. The longer they kissed the deeper it got. Soon Hunter's tongue had filled Skylar's mouth. Hunter picked Skylar up and sat him on the hood of the car. When he did he spread Skylar's legs apart only to place himself between them. Skylar wrapped his arms around Hunter's neck pulling him close. Smiling through the kiss, Hunter placed his hands on Skylar's hips and pulled his lower half closer to his own.

''If you two are going to keep that up, you might as well just go home'' Nik said.

Pulling apart, Hunter looked over at him almost as if he was telling him to go to hell. Skylar just blushed and hid his face against Hunter's chest. Ella was standing next to Nik with her hands over Mylo's eyes. Mylo finally wiggled free and ran over to them both. Hunter picked him up sitting next to Skylar.

''So then'' Ella started to say as she looked at Skylar ''Where to?''

Skylar looked over at her, but all she did was smile at him. He bit the inside of his lip as he looked from her to both Mylo and Hunter ''Home'' he reached out and took hold of Hunter's hand holding it tightly, then looked over at his mother ''I want to go home.''

Ella smiled more and nodded as she looked at Hunter ''Just remember he is still recovering'' she said walking to the driver side of her car ''Also send someone over to the house. I will pack some of his things.''
