Unfortunately, the euphoria of finding out she loves me is short-lived. I get to stay with her for one night before I'm called back to the compound. Mac got shot and it was so close to his heart, he had to go to the hospital because even Doc, Saviour, and Nova together wouldn't be able to fix it themselves. They're not surgeons after all.

After that, the whole place went into craziness. The kids have been pulled and aren't allowed to leave Breaker's house, they're supposed to be in school at the moment but because of the risk of these assassins choosing another target that isn't Bear, everyone agreed that it would be better not to bring them here considering this is where Bear lives.

Bear isn't doing well. He's blaming Mac's shooting on himself even though he wasn't the one pulling the trigger and he's trying to get the lot of us out of the clubhouse like the martyr he is. He's being a pain in everyone's ass so Lexie is running us now. I've moved June from the outer part of town to Breaker's house where most of the women are with three constant bodyguards.

Marielle, Cassidy, Lexie, Juniper, and Nova's children are all there looking after the babies while Riley and Saviour are here fighting Bear at every turn. There Riders are not happy about their presence here either, I doubt Eva would be happy if she found out about it as well. We haven't seen her since she left and we figure she hasn't managed to fix the problem yet considering there's currently a sniper somewhere outside firing whenever someone exits the building.

No one has been hit yet, thankfully, as only Runner got shot at when he went to get his bag out of the car. Mac was shot very early yesterday morning and has been in the hospital since we haven't heard if he's woken up yet but Forger is with him to protect him. "What's the plan?" Romeo asks, putting Runner behind him without thinking much of it.

"You guys go out the back door and I wait here for the dumb fuck to come in and kill me." Nova smacks her father around the back of the head really hard, normally it's Lexie but Nova has been losing her nice streak when it comes to her father because he is being an absolute dick. I hear a loud bang and a few subsequent groans before the door is opened and everyone opens fire on it.

"Quit it!" Bullets halt as Eva stands there looking incredibly pissed. Good thing we didn't hit her, though that's more because of her quick reflexes than our intelligence. "This is the sniper, he's from Washington." The sniper is unconscious at her feet as she looks at us in confusion. "You guys are awfully worked up."

"People are trying to kill Bear, Bear is trying to stop us from helping him because of his stupid martyr complex and we're losing our freaking minds." Lexie rants frustrated and Eva just smiles sweetly like she normally does.

"It's alright. You mustn't worry so much, I'm working on it."

"Mac is in the hospital because of me, the fucker almost died." Bear looks ready to break down, something I've never seen before but Eva has this sort of comforting presence that makes you feel safe enough to actually feel everything.

"Mac is the big one, right? Protection?" Bear nods, rubbing his face raw as he thinks over everything he could've done differently. "He's strong and you best not blame yourself, you can't control people's behaviours, darling. No matter how much power you have. Now take a deep breath and think logically."

Even though Bear is close to Eva's age, he takes her advice willingly. He misses his mother all the time and I imagine Eva reminds him of her, helping him calm down quickly. "People are going to get injured because of me, maybe even killed."

"I understand your frustration, Bear. But becoming a martyr isn't going to help. I'm dealing with the bounty as we speak, I just need you all to survive until I can fix it. So, please for goodness sakes, don't get yourself killed."

I can't believe this bullshit, I swear to God the minute this shit is over, I'm taking a vacation. I haven't seen June in hours and I'm losing my freaking mind. Boulder, Breaker, Runner, and I have been dispatched to the closest nightclub of ours because there have been reports of an attack by four men armed with AK47s.

Runner and I sneak in through the back door as Boulder and Breaker attract the attention of the idiots inside. Quite a few of our people are pinned to the ground, there aren't many customers currently as the business just opened and the line outside disbanded as soon as they saw the guns. I spot Daisy cowering against the bar as I creep up behind her.

"Rubble?" She whispers confused and I just nod at her, moving her so she's further away from the bullet spray that's bound to happen the minute these dickheads figure out we're here. They're looking jumpy already and I can imagine they're feeling trigger happy. I doubt they realised how high of a target Bear is until they got here.

"Hey, douchebags." Boulder is pissed off as he slams into the front door, Breaker right beside him. I roll my eyes at the dramatics, thanking God that these two knuckleheads didn't get filled with lead at their arrival.

"Where is Bear?" One of the guys asks, his hands shaking and the gun wavering.

"He's a bit preoccupied running a club so we're the welcome wagon. Put your guns down and we won't kill you... yet anyway." Boulder has definitely picked up some of Riley's attitude which is going to get him killed one day. Riley is slender and quick, smart too so she can avoid undue harm, Boulder got his name because he's literally fucking massive.

"Just give us Bear and we won't hurt you." Another guy says and Breaker rolls his eyes.

"Look mate, by the way, the lot of you are handling those guns I'd say your aim is shit no matter how many times you fire that fucking thing. So, we're gonna give you one chance to fuck off before we kill you." Breaker is just as pissed. Being without Cassidy seems to do that to him, he hasn't seen her in two days so I'm surprised he lasted this long, he's probably itching to tear these fuckers apart.

"Why would we give up two million dollars for him?" Okay, I'm bored now. I whistle lowly, signalling that I have a shot on the one closest to me. The others sound off too so we fire simultaneously, all four hitting the deck within seconds. They may have worn Kevlar but they didn't wear helmets.

"I call dibs on not carrying a body." I declare as I jump over the bar.

"Fuck off, there are four of them, four of us. Pick one of them and let's move." I poke my tongue out at Runner and chose the one I shot. It's only fair. I heave him over my shoulder and haul him out to the truck alongside the other three Red and Saviour took down this morning. Johnson and Romeo have been working together, with the baby prospect Louis, to narrow down where the assassins are with Eva confirming them afterwards.

We're at a kill count of eleven with only one of ours injured. Mac has been awake for a few hours and the doctors say he can come home in a week or so depending on his recovery levels. I think they only agreed to that because they know we have three people who can take care of him from the comfort of his own bed.

I grumble in annoyance as I kick the stand out from my bike and walk into the clubhouse. One of Matias' men collects the bodies and leaves our territory as quickly as possible. The contract would be voided if one of these assassins kill one of Matias' men.

I just want June at this point.
